Massive brawl erupts in Texas following 7-day Caribbean cruise
It was not the perfect ending to a Caribbean cruise holiday for some passengers. Article content According to the Crew Center blog, passengers shared to a private Facebook group that several altercations occurred out at sea, including fights on decks 4 and 10 of the Carnival Jubilee. Some property was also reportedly damaged on Deck 10. Article content The brawl apparently stemmed from an incident on the ship's basketball court the day before. Article content 'Yep this was the most ghetto cruise I've ever been on,' one passenger, Heather Clemons, wrote on Facebook. 'Let's just say we won't be doing Carnival anytime in the near future. It was beyond ridiculous.' Article content Article content The Port of Galveston Police Department said it charged a Chicago man after an elderly person was allegedly pushed in the baggage area following an argument. Article content The Galveston County Daily News obtained a court affidavit that said Port of Galveston police responded to Cruise Terminal 25 following a report of a disturbance. Article content Article content When officers arrived, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers had already stopped the mayhem. Article content The victim told cops that he saw the accused watching him and his family walk by in a 'hostile manner' while retrieving his luggage. He said the man looked angry as they exchanged words. Article content 'Don't do what you're about to do,' the victim reportedly told the man, police said. The accused then allegedly hit the elderly man on the right side of his head, according to the affidavit. He fell, but told cops his luggage broke the fall. Article content Two witnesses told police the elderly man tried to de-escalate the situation. After he was hit, the victim's family apparently defended him by attacking the accused.

Carnival Cruise brawl caught on video as ship slapped with 'DO NOT SAIL' warning
A shocking video caught the moment a massive brawl sparked between dozens of travellers on a Carnival Cruise ship before more than 20 people were punished and landed up on "Do Not Sail" list because of the horror brawl. Dramatic footage showed terrifying scenes with passengers throwing punches and items at each other after a week-long trip in the Western Caribbean. The chaotic fight erupted as passengers were getting off the Carnival Jubilee cruise. A video, caught and shared by one of the travellers, initially showed a group of people throwing punches at one passenger who ended up on the ground. People then forced themselves past a barrier and chased after one of the other passengers on board and appeared to tackle that person to the floor. Security rushed to the scene and attempted to break up the fight but dozens of people kept exchanging blows at each other and especially at one man. The horror incident broke out just as the week-long journey had ended at a cruise terminal in Galveston, Texas, on Saturday April 26. This fight was caught at what appeared to be the baggage claim area as rows of suitcases were lined up where the brawl started. A spokesperson for Carnival Cruise confirmed 24 people were banned from travelling with the cruise liner after the shocking fight. In a statement to USA Today, the company said: "The incident occurred in the debarkation area under the authority of U.S. Customs and Border Patrol. The matter was turned over to law enforcement. We will not tolerate such behavior, and 24 people have been placed on our Do Not Sail list." The Port of Galveston Police Department responded following "an altercation" at Cruise Terminal 25, according to an emailed statement. The CBP "detained several individuals" and authorities reported that one person was charged by police at the port, but details of the charge have not been shared. The video was shared by Facebook user Trelle Ray who captioned the video, which has been viewed over one million times, "It went down this morning." The week-long cruise departed from Galveston on Saturday, April 19, and made several stops across the Caribbean, according to CruiseMapper. These included Costa Maya in Mexico and Roatan Island in Honduras. This has not been the first time a fight has ignited at sea as around 60 people were involved in a brawl off the New York Coty coast in 2022. Glasses and bottles were reportedly used as weapons in a nightclub on the Carnival Magic ship. A clip from the boat appeared to show the fight initially start as a row between two people as dozens more started to get involved in the scrap. The Coast Guard was called out to the incident and escorted the vessel back to port where NYPD cops were waiting.
