Apr. 24—Two injured in three-vehicle accident SEAL TOWNSHIP — A 95-year-old woman was killed and two were injured in a crash in Pike County on April 17. Leona Pertuset, 95, of Peebles, died Monday from her injuries from the three-vehicle accident three days earlier, the Ohio State Highway patrol reported. At 4:08 p.m. on April 17, the Portsmouth Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol received a call of an injury crash involving a commercial vehicle at the intersection of State Route 32 and U.S. 23. A 2017 Cadillac CTS was northbound on U.S. 23 and failed to yield from the stop sign at State Route 32. A 2007 Peterbilt 379 series truck was headed eastbound on State Route 32, and struck the Cadillac, which spun into a 2011 Kia Sorento waiting to turn from State Route 32 onto U.S. 23 northbound. The driver of the 2017 Cadillac CTS, James Pertuset, 93, of Peebles, was transported to Ohio State University Medical Center Columbus for injuries sustained from the crash. His passenger, Leona Pertuset, was transported to Ohio State University Medical Center Columbus, Ohio for injuries sustained from the crash. She died on Monday. Tyler Walton, 29, of Wellston, was driving the 2007 Peterbilt 379 series truck and reported no injuries at the crash scene. Annette Peck, 63, of Wheelersburg, Ohio was driving the 2011 Kia Sorento, reported non-life-threatening injuries on scene. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Seal Township Fire Department, Portsmouth Ambulance, and Pike County Sheriff's Department.

On Thursday, April 17, at 4:08 p.m. the Portsmouth Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol received a call of an injury crash involving a commercial vehicle at the intersection of U.S. 32 and U.S. 23. A 2017 Cadillac CTS was northbound on U.S. 23 and failed to yield from the stop sign at Ohio 32. A 2007 Peterbilt 379 series truck was eastbound on Ohio 32, striking the Cadillac CTS. The Cadillac spun into a 2011 Kia Sorento waiting to turn from Ohio 32 onto U.S. 23 northbound. Driver of the 2017 Cadillac CTS, James Pertuset, 93, of Peebles, was transported to The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus for injuries sustained from the crash. Passenger of the 2017 Cadillac CTS, Leona Pertuset 95, of Peebles, was also taken to The Ohio State University Medical Center for injuries sustained in the crash. She succumbed to her injuries at 5:05 p.m., Monday, April 21. Tyler Walton, 29, of Wellston, was driving the 2007 Peterbilt 379 series truck and reported no injuries at the crash scene. Annette Peck, 63, of Wheelersburg, was driving the 2011 Kia Sorento reported non-life-threatening injuries on scene. One killed, one injured in Rubyville crash

On the afternoon of Wednesday, Feb. 19, the Portsmouth Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol received a call of an injury crash on State Route 139 near mile post 5. Logan Alexander Etterling, 18, of Portsmouth was driving a 2011 Mazda 6 northeast on State Route 139. Jeffrey Levi Riley, 29, of Portsmouth was driving on a suspended license in a 2010 Ford Escape southwest on State Route 139. The 2011 Mazda 6 drove left of center and struck the 2010 Ford Escape. Mr. Etterling succumbed to his injuries as result of the crash at the scene. Mr. Riley was transported to Grant Medical Center. The crash remains under investigation. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Rubyville Fire Department, Clay Township Fire Department, Jefferson Township Fire Department, Ohio Department of Transportation, and the Scioto County Coroner's Office.
