Tell The Post: Who are your picks for our Post Next 50 list in 2025?
We recently published Post Next 50, an annual list of people our journalists deem to be 'next' in their respective industries. To compile the list, we tapped journalists and editors across The Washington Post newsroom to identify people they expect will have impact in the coming year. Here are the questions we asked to create the list: The list aims to reflect different viewpoints and highlight people whose work could be significant — locally, nationally or globally. Keep in mind that to be on the list is not an award or honor; it is recognition of work already being done. Be sure to include a brief explanation of why you think this person will have expanding influence in 2025. To submit, please use the form below. We won't publish or share this information without following up with you. Thanks for contributing!

Produced by The Washington Post's Special Initiatives & Partnerships (SIP) team, it featured multiple feature formats, dynamic off-platform storytelling, and a bespoke print product. The initiative highlighted a wide range of honorees, each carefully evaluated by reporters and editors with subject-matter expertise to confirm their potential to drive meaningful change. Ronny Chieng on why America needs satire
Ronny Chieng in the Georgia Room at Freehand New York. (Amy Lombard for The Washington Post) Ronny Chieng's approach to comedy, along with his expanding TV and film portfolio, have put him on The Washington Post's first-ever 'Post Next 50' list – 50 people shaping our society this year. In this conversation with Elahe Izadi, he reflects on why he works to write jokes for his stand-up in a way that anyone can appreciate, even if they're coming from a different perspective, and why the work of 'The Daily Show' is crucial. By the way, Martine Powers interviewed another name on the 'Post Next 50' list. You can catch her conversation with Congresswoman Sarah McBride here. Today's show was produced by Sabby Robinson, with help from Ted Muldoon, who also mixed the show. It was edited by Renita Jablonski. She joins Martine Powers to talk about how she makes that work and what she thinks Democrats can do now. Rep. Sarah McBride is part of 'Post Next 50,' The Post's project profiling 50 people shaping our society in 2025. The full list can be found here. Today's show was produced by Emma Talkoff. Please try again later. Welcome to the first Post Next 50 list. Our aim is simple — to introduce our readers to a fascinating group of people whom we expect to make an impact this year. To compile the list, we tapped journalists across The Washington Post newsroom to debate what it means to be 'next.' We started with a list of more than 200 names and spent months discussing candidates. We considered how well known they are, how relevant their upcoming projects could be and what their ascents reveal about our society in 2025. In each case, we're looking forward, not backward. Our list isn't an award or honor. Each person on the Post Next 50 was profiled by a reporter or editor with subject matter expertise and an assignment to assess impact. The list aims to reflect a range of viewpoints and highlight people who will be notable and whose work will be significant — locally, statewide or nationally. We welcome your comments as you read our profiles. Who do you think is 'next'? — Matt Murray, executive editor Story continues below advertisement Advertisement
