The app will inform motorists about the route which will attract least amount of toll between Delhi and Lucknow,' Singha also flagged safety concerns related to the misuse of access-controlled expressways by unauthorised vehicles. Citing data from NHAI's Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS), he said a large number of violations were being recorded, particularly on the Delhi-Gurgaon and Dwarka expressways.'Between June 21 and June 23 alone, 1.73 lakh violations were recorded. Good news commuters! NHAI's Rajmargyatra app gets new feature, to help travelers find highway route that is..., check details Starting next month, the Rajmargyatra app, developed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), will get a new feature that will help travelers find the route with the least toll charges between two cities. The Rajmargyatra app already gives useful information about national highways, including maps, road conditions, and ways to file complaints if there are issues on the road. Amrit Singha, Chief Product Officer at the Indian Highways Management Company (IHMCL), shared an example: If you're going from Delhi to Lucknow, there are three possible routes: Via Yamuna Expressway Via Ghaziabad–Aligarh–Kanpur Via Moradabad–Bareilly–Sitapur The app will compare toll costs for each route and tell you which one is the cheapest. Illegal Entry Worries However, NHAI officials are also worried about two- and three-wheeler riders using roads they are not allowed on, like the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway and the Dwarka Expressway. Between June 21 and 23, NHAI's Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) recorded over 1.73 lakh traffic violations and more than 1 lakh of these were because banned vehicles were using restricted roads. New Road to Jaipur Almost Ready There's also good news for people traveling between Delhi and Jaipur. NHAI is getting ready to open a new 67-km road from Bandikui to Jaipur, which connects to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. This new four-lane road has been built at a cost of Rs. 1,368 crore and should be open for trial runs by mid-July, according to Pradeep Atri, NHAI's regional officer in Rajasthan. What Will Change? Right now, it takes around 4 hours to go from Delhi to Jaipur: 2.5 hours from Delhi to Bandikui 1.5 hours from Bandikui to Jaipur (on older roads) With the new road, the Bandikui–Jaipur stretch will be faster, and the full journey could take just 3 hours. This is expected to reduce traffic on the old Delhi-Jaipur highway and make travel smoother and quicker. (With PTI inputs)
