Jubilant fans celebrate as RCB ends title drought and lifts IPL 2025 trophy
Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], June 4 (ANI): Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won its first-ever Indian Premier League (IPL) title after 18 years, with a six-run win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday. Jubilant Bengaluru fans expressed their happiness towards RCB for their maiden IPL title. Pramod, a fan of RCB, said, 'We waited 18 years. The entire RCB team has waited 18 years for this victory. We cheer for the entire RCB team.' Another RCB fan said, 'We are thrilled that the cup is coming home to Namma Ooru Bengaluru. We are Kannadigas are very proud of this. Welcome home, RCB.' The wait for the title continues for PBKS, who reached their first final in 11 years under the exceptional leadership of Shreyas Iyer and head coach Ricky Ponting. However, after 18 years, skipper Rajat Patidar has lifted the title for RCB, with their superstar batter Virat Kohli getting his first-ever IPL trophy after 18 years with the team. After winning the maiden IPL title, RCB will have a victory parade from Vidhana Soudha to Chinnaswamy Stadium. Preparations have started in Bengaluru for the victory parade of RCB, after Bengaluru edged past PBKS in the final of IPL 2025. The RCB players will have a victory parade on the road in front of Vidhana Soudha, the heart of Bengaluru, and the road near Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium. All the RCB players will meet Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar inside Vidhana Soudha between 4 and 5 PM. After meeting CM Siddaramaiah from 5 PM onwards in an open bus, the parade will be started from Vidhana Soudha to Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium. From 6 PM onwards, celebrations inside the Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium with fans will start. RCB etched its name into the history books by deflating Punjab Kings' hopes of lifting the trophy in the final of the 18th season of the cash-rich league. (ANI)

Murder caught on camera: Man hacked to death with machetes inside bakery in Karnataka's Koppal district
In a brutal incident, a man was brutally killed with machetes by a group of people inside a bakery shop in Karnataka's Koppal district, which was caught on CCTV, reported News18. According to the report, the incident took place on 31 May over an alleged property dispute. Identified as Chenappa Narinal, the victim screamed for his life as he ran into the shop to save himself. But the wall could not assure him of safety with the attackers attacking him. The video shows two of the attackers striking him with machetes, while another individual attacked the victim on his head with a wooden log, added the report. When the victim was running in the shop, the attackers chased him running in the shop. Later, when the victim ran out of the bakery, he was stabbed by two to three attackers. Following the murder, the assailants left the spot. The report added that the police have arrested at least seven people, who were identified as Pramod, Nagaraj, Pradeep, Ravi, Gautam, and two Manjunaths. Apart from this, the police said that they have launched an operation to nab other individuals involved in the murder is underway. Further probe is underway.

7 from woman's family jailed for life for killing hubby's dad in honour attack
Agra: A Muzaffarnagar court has sentenced seven members of a woman's family to life imprisonment for killing the father of the man she eloped with and married against their wishes. Sharma said the incident occurred in March 2023 in Rasoolpur Garhi village under Meerapur police station limits. The victim, 50-year-old Onkar Kumar, was attacked at his residence by Prince Kumar—the woman's brother—along with his uncle and other relatives. Following the murder, Onkar's younger son, Sachin Kumar, filed a complaint with police. "Ankit left the village about three years ago with Prince's sister, after which both of them got married in court. After hearing about the move, Prince and his family members set fire to our house. After this, both families reached a compromise. However, Prince, his uncle Pramod, and Pramod's two sons, Deepak and Ankur, held a grudge against our family," he said. Sachin said the next attack took place on the night of March 3, 2023. "Around 8.30 pm, Prince and six others entered the house armed with weapons and started beating my father. Pramod and Deepak caught hold of him, and Prince took out a pistol and shot him. The others kept firing and spreading terror. When I tried to save my father, Prince also fired at me, but I survived. My father died on the spot," he said. Based on the complaint, police registered a case under IPC Section 302 (murder) against the seven accused. All were arrested and later charge-sheeted. "After examining all the evidence and witnesses, the court on Tuesday sentenced the seven convicts to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹17,000 each," Sharma said.

2 held for blocking SUV, robbing passengers in Nazirabad
Bhopal: In a late-night robbery incident near Amliya village in the Nazirabad area on Sunday night, two miscreants, including a minor, allegedly blocked a road using bamboo sticks and attacked an SUV carrying eight people. They looted cash and attempted to snatch valuables. The suspects fled the spot when the SUV-borne men resisted but were later arrested by Nazirabad police. They were identified as as Prakash Meena, 25, a resident of Amliya village, and his 17-year-old accomplice from Guna district. Nazirabad police registered a case on charges of loot and blocking the road against the duo. Nazirabad SHO Krishna Singh Thakur said that the complainant, Pramod Sharma, 41, a resident of Lateri in Vidisha district, drives his SUV as a taxi. A family from his village hired his taxi to go to Hoshangabad on Sunday. He was driving the SUV. Apart from Pramod, there were three men, two women, and two children on board. SHO Thakur said that around 11pm, as the SUV approached a deserted stretch near Amliya village, accused Meena and Amliya appeared on both sides of the road holding bamboo sticks, signalling the vehicle to stop.
