Pratt's BBQ's ‘Big John' in pieces after failed relocation
KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — A well-known landmark in Kingsport was accidentally destroyed on Saturday morning while being relocated to its new permanent site.
'Big John,' the giant Native American statue that topped Pratt's BBQ on Stone Drive, is now in pieces. The statue had been standing in Kingsport since the 1970s.

According to Jonathan Pratt, the late owner of Pratt's son, the statue did not have enough support inside of it to withstand the move.
Pratt's BBQ closed its doors on Father's Day in 2024.
