One dead after vehicle strikes tree, bursts into flames west of London

One person has died after a single-vehicle crash in Southwest Middlesex Monday afternoon.
Middlesex OPP said a vehicle was traveling north on Pratts Siding Road, just south of Longwoods Road, when it left the roadway and struck a tree at River Road.
The vehicle then burst into flames.
Emergency crews were called to the scene around 12:45 p.m.
OPP Const. Jeff Hare said the vehicle was fully engulfed in fire when crews arrived.

He said the lone occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
'I know this is a through-way trying to get into Elgin County from Middlesex County. Is it a common thing? Lately, we've had a lot of fatals, unfortunately. And they're becoming way too common,' said Hare.
Pratts Siding between Longwoods and McMurchy Line was expected to be closed for most of the afternoon.
