Social groups protest against Waqf Act

Jharkhand Janadhikar Mahasabha
(JJM), a coalition of peoples' organization across Jharkhand, along with a social forum "Sajha Kadam" demonstrated against the enactment of the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025 at Albert Ekka Chowk in Ranchi on Saturday. The protestors stated that the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025, which has brought sweeping changes to the Waqf Act, 1995, not only strikes at the religious identity and community rights of the Muslims but also undermines constitutional principles and social harmony. said, "Every religious denomination has the freedom to manage its own religious affairs, institutions, and property. However, the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025 is a clear violation of the right laid by the constitution."
