Belagavi hosts ‘Vision Karnataka 2025' expo
Belagavi: A three-day mega exhibition titled 'Vision Karnataka 2025', showcasing central govt schemes and development initiatives, was inaugurated on Wednesday by Belagavi MP
Jagadish Shettar
at the KLE Centenary Convention Centre.
The opening day attracted more than 5,000 students and the public. Organised by Delhi-based Prayass Events and Exhibitors under the leadership of Shettar, the exhibition features nearly 60 stalls representing central govt departments and public sector undertakings, including Reserve Bank of India, Defence Research and Development Organisation and Bureau of Indian Standards.
MP Shettar echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, saying he has a similar development roadmap for the Belagavi Lok Sabha constituency.
Shettar announced his plans to push for the establishment of a public limited company focused on defence manufacturing in Belagavi. He highlighted that around 700 acres of revenue land, currently under defence possession despite the expiry of its lease, could be utilised for this purpose.
"I will meet defence minister Rajnath Singh to request the allocation of this unused land," Shettar said.
Belagavi (South) MLA Abhay Patil and former Rajya Sabha member Prabhakar Kore hailed the exhibition as a 'knowledge fair,' urging students to take full advantage of the rare opportunity to learn about national development efforts. Kore said this was the first time such a type of exhibition was organised in Karnataka.
Dharwad MLA Arvind Bellad, deputy mayor Vani Vilas Joshi, former MP Mangala Angadi, former MLAs Sanjay Patil, ML Muttennavar, Vishwanath Patil and Prayass Events representative Manish Gupta were present.
