Will Amorim rest key figures in the Premier League?
BBC Radio Manchester's Gaz Drinkwater and Joe McGrath have been discussing whether Ruben Amorim will rest players before Manchester United's Europa League semi-final against Athletic competition is the club's last shot at securing European football for next season, given they have been knocked out of the FA Cup and are currently 14th in the Premier on The Devils' Advocate podcast, Drinkwater said: "Athletic Bilbao are going to be so tough to play against."One thing we can say is that we should have fresh players. Ruben Amorim is not going to play a full-strength team in the Premier League - because why would he?"However, McGrath does not believe that is the correct way to approach the game, saying: "I understand resting players for the Europa League, but we don't play [Bilbao] until 1 May. That is a long time to wait."I think he would be risking it all for the Europa League if he does that - and if it doesn't come off, he is risking his legacy."Drinkwater responded: "He isn't going to rest the players that are going to be playing in the semi-final every week between now and then. There is still going to be the odd one playing here and there just to keep them match fit."Ruben Amorim's legacy at this club will be lifting that Europa League trophy at the end of this season and taking Manchester United into the Champions League next season."Listen to the full podcast on BBC Sounds

Delap 'ticks a lot of boxes' but would be 'second fiddle' to Isak
Former Newcastle United defenderJohn Anderson believes the Magpies should be eyeing a move for "young and homegrown" striker Liam Delap, who will be available for £30m if Ipswich Town are relegated from the Premier on BBC Radio Newcastle's Total Sport podcast, Anderson admitted the Englishman would be on his wishlist this summer: "I think for that type of money he would be. Nowadays, £30m isn't a great deal of money."The only problem is there will be other people looking at him as well. We wouldn't be the only ones really interested in him and then you start getting yourselves into a bidding war."He does fall into the right category though. He is young and homegrown, to a degree, so he ticks a lot of boxes."But is he going to be a regular starter with Alexander Isak being here? Eddie Howe isn't going to play two up front but he would be ideal backup, especially if they don't renew Callum Wilson's contract and they get rid of him."Isak is untouchable at this moment in time. I would say he is probably the best striker in Europe at the moment. He has amassed 20 goals again this season, that is two seasons on the bounce now, which is a very difficult thing to do."So it comes down to whether Delap would be happy to come here and be second fiddle because I don't think Eddie Howe would change a system that has worked very well for him."But Delap does give you that different option. He likes to come short, he has a physical presence and he doesn't mind the physical aspect of the game - so I think he is a different type of player to Isak."Listen to the full discussion on BBC Sounds

'It's not about effort'
BBC Radio Manchester's Gaz Drinkwater says no member of Manchester United's squad is good enough to win the Premier League. Speaking to BBC Radio Manchester's The Devils' Advocate podcast, he said: "If you want to win a Premier League, then every single player in the squad goes. Not a single player in this squad is capable of ever winning a Premier League. "I would be staggered if even the young lads go on and be that talented because I'm not seeing it at the minute - I love seeing Amad Diallo and Kobbie Mainoo, but I'm not seeing consistent performances that suggest they will ever win the Premier League. "Bruno Fernandes has been United's best signing since [Sir Alex] Ferguson. The numbers he's put up have been incredible but his performances are nowhere near consistent enough to win the Premier League. He was woeful against Tottenham and there's too many of those woeful performances. "It's not about effort. It's not that they aren't trying and playing for the badge." Cashin 'future captain material'
BBC Derby reporter Ed Dawes says Brighton's new signing Eiran Cashin will have no problem adapting to life in the Premier to the Albion Unlimited podcast, Dawes said: "He's only 23 but he has played a lot of football. He went from the academy straight into the first team and I think he adapted really well."He is a head-it and kick-it man - he's hard. For a 23 year old, he is quite an old-fashioned defender; quite stocky, reading the game really well and not afraid of making big tackles. "He is very good in the air because he is built. When he leaps, he climbs, and he will score goals from corners. The fact that he is a Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, he has clearly got something that all of the best analysts in the game have spotted."I think he will take [moving into a Premier League dressing room] in his stride. He will have no problem being the voice in the huddle to get people going. He might be future captain material. "He is going to be a star."Not a Brighton fan?
