Forza Horizon 5 launches on PS5 this week – here's how to play early
Any PlayStation 5 owners eager to play Forza Horizon 5 as soon as possible can do so four days before its official release. While Microsoft has embraced launching new Xbox games on PlayStation 5, and potentially Switch 2, it's also made it clear that many of its older titles will also be going multiformat. The likes of Hi-Fi Rush and Sea Of Thieves saw PlayStation 5 ports last year and they'll soon be joined by the most recent entry in Microsoft's Forza racing series, Forza Horizon 5. Technically, Forza Horizon 5's PlayStation 5 port isn't out until next week. But, if you can't bear to wait that long, there is a way to start playing as early as this weekend. The official release date for the PlayStation 5 version of Forza Horizon 5 is Tuesday, April 29. However, Microsoft is running an early access period that begins at 12.01am BST on Friday, April 25, allowing you to enjoy the game throughout the weekend. If you want to take part in the early access period, you'll need to pre-order Forza Horizon 5's Premium Edition. For context, there are three versions of the game available, and the Premium Edition is the only that offers early access. It's also the most expensive at £84.99, although it does include the following: Both the Rally Adventure and Hot Wheels expansion packs The Car Pass, which includes 42 extra cars VIP membership, which includes more cars, cosmetics, and other in-game rewards The Welcome Pack, which includes another five cars, a Player House property, a one-time grant to own any car from the game's Autoshow, and three one-time grants for any Common or Rare clothing item By comparison, the game on its own costs £54.99,while the Deluxe Edition, which includes the game and Car Pass, is £69.99. Pre-ordering any version of Forza Horizon 5 will net you: The 2021 Mercedes-AMG Mercedes-AMG ONE (the car seen on the cover art) 5,000 Forzathon Points for buying cars and cosmetics Five Backstage Passes for unlocking cars in the Backstage Shop If you have already pre-ordered the standard or Deluxe Edition, you can pay an upgrade fee to access the Premium Edition. This will only be available until the early access period ends on April 28. More Trending Microsoft has advised that anyone who upgrades this way may need to restore their game licence in order to take part in the early access period, which can be done by following the instructions on Sony's website. There will be a Premium Add-Ons bundle available after launch, that includes all the other extra content and all of it will be available as separate purchases as well. You can pre-order Forza Horizon 5 via the PlayStation Store. In fact, that's the only way to pre-order it since it's a digital-only release, with no plans for a physical version. Indiana Jones & The Great Circle: Release Date & PS5 Pro Enhancements
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle After seeing the beauty of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on Xbox, I'm excited to fire it up on the PS5 Pro. When I learned the hit title was headed to the PS5, one of the first things I was interested in learning about was the enhancements we might see when the game runs on the PS5 Pro. I've dug up some information on that, as well as the fast-approaching confirmed release date and the special editions. The game officially launches on PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro on April 17. Pre-order customers of the Premium Edition will receive two days of early access and can begin playing on April 15. Any users who pre-order will receive the Last Crusade Pack. Pre-order users for the Premium Edition will receive The Order of Giants Story DLC, digital artbook, and Temple of Doom outfit. There is also a Collector's Edition for PC and Xbox. We'll get into that a bit more below. FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder The new game will benefit from enhancements on the PS5 Pro, per Push Square. The game is set to be "visually optimized" for the PS5 Pro, offering improved visual fidelity and performance. Additionally, two new whip abilities, "Open Season" and "Sleight of Hand," will be introduced. With "Open Season," whip-cracking an enemy will temporarily cause them to take more damage from subsequent attacks, while "Sleight of Hand" allows players to disarm an enemy and have their weapon fly toward Indy. The hope is that these enhancements will provide a more immersive and dynamic gameplay experience for PS5 Pro users. The game's campaign mode takes place in 1937. The story takes place between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade. One of the most attractive things about the game is that it feels like a movie or television series from the IP that wasn't made. Oftentimes, games made after movies don't add to the story. This one does. The game is played from a first-person perspective, which was a bit of a deterrent for me initially. I've gotten a little bored with first-person games. However, there is something about first-person in The Great Circle that works. The way you experience the action would be nerfed to the game's detriment without it. If you've played it on Xbox, you know what I mean. A limited Collector's Edition includes everything in the Premium bundle, plus a custom globe with secret storage, a replica of the Allmaker Relic, an oversized SteelBook, and a collector's adventure journal. Bethesda has done an excellent job packaging this thing in a manner that'll make you smell a hint of leather and see particles of dust from an old artifact. Take a look. Forza Horizon 5 careens onto PS5 on April 29
Forza Horizon 5 is officially coming to the PS5 on April 29. We knew the racing sim was going multiplatform, and now we have a legit date when players will be able to race around a digital replica of Mexico. This version does have cross-play support, which has already been a boon for Xbox and PC players. Additionally, the PS5 build allows gamers to purchase all of the same car packs, including the Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure expansions. There's a new and free content update for PS5, Xbox and PC players called Horizon Realms that features a set of in-game achievements based on the game's dynamic and evolving world, which arrives on April 25. Horizon 5 comes to PS5 in three flavors. The base game costs $60; the Deluxe Edition, which comes with the game's car pass, costs $80; and the Premium Edition, which comes with all of the game's DLC, costs $100. If you pre-order the Premium Edition you also get early access to the game on April 25, though does it count as early access when the game's been out for over four years on Xbox and PC? That's for you and your wallet to decide. All editions are digital only — the Forza Horizon X account confirmed there are currently no plans for a physical release. Developer Playground Games has also run down the various graphics modes available on PlayStation 5. Regular PS5 consoles will have access to a 60 fps performance mode and a 30 fps quality mode. PS5 Pro owners will have the same options, but with "increased fidelity" in the performance mode and ray-traced car reflections in races and free roam. There is no word currently on resolution targets for either console, or how they shape up versus Xbox Series X/S. For the uninitiated, Forza Horizon 5 is a fantastic open-world racing game that we absolutely loved upon its initial release in 2021. The graphics are top notch, with a gorgeous design aesthetic, and the open world is fun to just race around in. The game is so approachable that we said 'you don't need to be into cars to love it.' This is just the latest former Xbox exclusive to bridge the console divide. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle debuted as an Xbox exclusive in December, but is also coming to the PS5 soon. Other former exclusives that have been allowed to roam free include Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment and Grounded.

How to play Avowed for free and early on Xbox
It has been a game long-teased by Microsoft to potentially be the console's next huge RPG hit and possible future franchise and now Avowed is here. First revealed in the summer of 2020, Avowed was initially pitched to be Obsidian Entertainment's answer to Skyrim, although the studio then rowed back on that claim. The game is set in the world of Eora, the same universe which features in the Pillars of Eternity games. Playable in both first person and third person, the high fantasy RPG will focus on combat and decision making as your progress through the Living Lands. As for the narrative of the game, the official website reads this: 'As an envoy of Aedyr, you are sent to investigate rumors of a spreading plague with a secret that threatens to destroy everything. Can you save the island and your soul from the forces threatening to tear them apart?' What time is Avowed released? Avowed is released on February 18/February 19 on Xbox and Windows, depending on what time zone/region you are in. February 18 10 AM PT (LA) 1 PM ET (New York) 6 PM GMT (London) February 19 5 AM AEDT (Sydney) Can you play Avowed for free? Yes, if you have an Xbox and you are already subscribed to Game Pass Premium then the game will be available to pre-install and will be playable once it is released. Can you play Avowed early? Also yes - and there are multiple ways to do it. If you buy the Premium Edition then you can jump in right now. Alternatively, you can still buy the Premium Edition and jump in as soon as you buy it. If you want to play early but don't want to invest too early then the Premium Upgrade is the route to go down. The Premium Upgrade is ideal for Game Pass Ultimate / PC Game Pass members as it doesn't include the full game itself (so you'll need to remain subscribed post-launch), and it's available for £17.99 / $22.49 on the Microsoft Store. Alternatively, if you just CANNOT wait those extra hours and you simply have to play the game first on release day then you can set the location/timezone of your Xbox to PT (LA) as the West Coast of America gets access to the game before anyone. Legally speaking, you're on your own here, but Microsoft has never said you cannot do this or taken any legal action against anyone doing so despite it being against the terms of service.
