Trump's Crypto Dinner Is Bananas for So Many Reasons
A sweepstakes-type dinner goes down tonight in Loudoun County, with the top 220 holders of $TRUMP meme coin currency expected to 'meet the president in person' at his Sterling, Virginia golf course.
Chinese cryptocurrency entrepreneur Justin Sun sits at the top of the leaderboard. The 34-year-old from Hong Kong with a $8.5-billion net worth (and former SEC lawsuit) made big headlines last fall, when the apparently aspiring art collector famously bought a banana duct-taped to a white wall for $6.2 million at a Sotheby's auction — and then proceeded to eat it.
Despite its name, the Trump National Golf Club, Washington D.C. is actually nowhere near the nation's capital. Open since 2009, the luxury course sits 26 miles from the White House — and is a good 40-minute drive without traffic. It's one of 18 international golf clubs branded by Trump since 1999. The dry president also happens to have a 1,300-acre winery in Charlottesville, Virginia, which is the biggest one on the East Coast. Its sparkling Presidential Reserve, released right after Trump's 2025 Inauguration for a timely $245.47, is a likely pour tonight.

Per the Sterling club's 10-year executive chef Jim Zambito's LinkedIn profile, the property has 800 members and pulls in $2 million in annual food sales. Dishes include a grilled chicken Caprese sandwich and pineapple hoisin-glazed halibut.
