(WJET/WFXP) – Card games and kayaks aren't usually associated with each other, which makes the Presque Isle Poker Paddle so interesting. The 5.5-mile Presque Isle Poker Paddle, hosted by the Presque Isle Partnership, takes place Saturday, June 7, starting at the Lagoons Boat Launch. But what is a poker paddle? As its name suggests, a poker paddle brings together two American pastimes. Presque Isle State Park will not receive $1.5 million in funding for sand replenishment According to the Presque Isle Partnership, groups of kayaks, canoes and paddleboards will set off every 15 minutes from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. to explore the Presque Isle Lagoons. As they paddle, participants will pick up five playing cards at stops throughout the lagoons. Man graduates from UL at 76 years-old Once they've collected their five cards, those with the best and worst poker hands are eligible to win cash prizes. It costs $50 to participate and helps with the operations of Presque Isle State Park.
