Mobile man arrested in Bay Minette after found asleep at wheel of running vehicle
BAY MINETTE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Mobile man was arrested Tuesday in Bay Minette after he was found asleep at the wheel of a running vehicle.

According to a Facebook post from the Bay Minette Police Department, an officer conducted a traffic stop after seeing a vehicle stationary on D'Olive Street, and the driver was asleep behind the wheel.
BMPD officials said the vehicle was running and in drive.
Police made contact with the driver, now identified as 29-year-old Anthony Maurice Parker Jr. of Mobile.
The officer saw a handgun in plain view inside the vehicle and 'also detected a strong of marijuana emitting from the vehicle,' the post said.
After investigating further, police learned Parker is a previously convicted felon. He'd been convicted of first-degree robbery and certain persons forbidden to possess firearms, according to the post.
Police searched the vehicle with probable cause and found 36 grams of marijuana, 11 grams of synthetic marijuana, 80 ecstasy pills and a loaded 9mm handgun, according to BMPD.
Parker was arrested and is accused of certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm, unlawful possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, first-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was taken to the Baldwin County Sheriff's Correctional Facility. His bond stands at $23,500.

This case is still being investigated, according to BMPD.
