State records pass percentage of 96.6% in Class 8 board exams
Jaipur: Education minister Madan Dilawar, Monday, virtually released the results for Primary Education Completion Certificate Examination 2025 (Class 8 board exam), in which the pass percentage was recorded at 96.6%.
The pass percentage last year was recorded as 95.7%.
This year, girls recorded a pass percentage of 97.2%, while the pass percentage for boys was 96.2%. The Class 8 board exam was conducted from March 20 till April 2 at 9,824 examination centres in the state. A total of 12,64,618 candidates appeared in the examination, out of which 12,22,369 candidates passed, while 41,368 students were classified for the supplementary examination.
This year, among the top five districts in the state, Sikar, Dausa, Ajmer, Nagaur, and Churu achieved the highest results. Districts like Dholpur, Baran, Pali, Chittorgarh, and Karauli recorded the lowest performance in the state.
Secretary of school education Krishna Kunal, who released the results in Jaipur, said that there was an improvement in the results of Class 8 this year, and more improvement is expected in the future.
He added that the results of the Class 5 board exams will be released this week.
For Class 8 result, instead of giving marks in the mark sheet of the candidates, a grade table was issued, wherein 2.48 lakh students received Grade A, over 6.62 lakh students received Grade B, over 3.09 lakh got Grade C, 2,143 students were in the Grade D category, and 41,368 students received Grade E, who have to appear for the supplementary exam.
According to the grade category, the marks scale of Grade A is 81 to 100, B is 61 to 80, C is 41 to 60, D is 33 to 40, and E category is 0 to 32.
