Princess Charlotte has been compared to Princess Leonor of Spain in a viral TikTok video celebrating the different roles the two royals have.
Why It Matters
Charlotte is preparing to celebrate her 10th birthday on May 2 and her life as a working royal will be unimaginably far away to her.
Princess Leonor is 19, has already graduated from school in Wales, in Britain, and is training in the Spanish navy—meaning her life of duty and service has effectively already begun.

Aaron Chown -andThe comparison, though, clearly resonated with fans on social media as the clip was viewed 1.4 million times and liked 64,000 times after being posted with the message: "Who holds a higher status—Princess Charlotte or Princess Leonor?"
There is, of course, no actual competition between them, though social media users may have enjoyed debating their different roles.
What to Know
The AI-generated narrator on the TikTok video said: "While both girls are widely adored, they actually aren't on the same royal level. First off, Princess Leonor is the official heir to the throne while Princess Charlotte is currently third in line.
"That means Leonor is set to become the future queen of Spain. Charlotte on the other hand will likely be the future daughter or sister of a future king. Sure she could become queen but only if Prince George steps aside, which is highly unlikely.
"Also, if Charlotte were to meet Leonor she would probably have to curtsy to her."
What People Are Saying
One fan wrote: "Nah Charlotte beats Leonor on any level. Also yes Charlotte barely makes public appearances for a reason. It's rarer to meet her and it's more of an honour when you do."
Another replied, "Yeah but Spanish Monarchy and British Monarchy are not on the same level," while a third said: "Can we trade King Charles for princess Leonor?"
A fourth wrote: "Princess Charlotte is a baby but she's respected by her brothers so I think Princess Charlotte is stronger.... Princess Leonor has higher status but Princess Charlotte has the strength of the queen."
What Happens Next
Princess Leonor is currently training with the Spanish navy, but when the time eventually comes is set to be the next queen of Spain.
Meanwhile, Princess Charlotte is on course to become the princess Rroyal, which will likely mean a career as a working royal, if parents Prince William and Princess Kate follow the same path as past generations.
