Princess Charlene risks awkward run-in with Prince Albert's ex-mistress Nicole Coste and his love children as they ALL attend Monaco F1 Grand Prix

Princess Charlene risked an awkward run-in with her husband's former mistress at the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday. The former Olympic swimmer, 47, cut a glamorous figure in a red blouse and matching trousers as she joined Prince Albert, 67, at the annual occasion in Monte Carlo over the weekend. Earlier in the day, Nicole Coste - who dated Albert in secret for seven years and shares a son, Alexandre, with the royal - revealed she was at the prestigious event alongside their 21-year-old child. Posting on Instagram, the fashion designer, who met the Prince while working as a flight attendant in 1997, shared a photo of herself on the pit-lane alongside her son, with the sweet photo captioned: 'Happy Mother's Day. Monaco Grand Prix.' Meanwhile, Jazmin Grimaldi, who is Prince Albert of Monaco 's 'illegitimate' daughter with American real estate agent Tamara Rotolo, took to Instagram to also share a snap celebrating 'race day'. The American-born actress and singer didn't showcase a photo of herself at the gathering, but instead showed off a spectacular view of the racetrack from an unidentified building. It's unclear if she later attended the event in person. Albert and Nicole's liaison became the best-kept secret among Monaco society. Although they both attended red carpet events and mixed with socialites and celebrities, the majority of Albert's subjects knew nothing of the relationship. Ahead of her 2011 wedding to Prince Albert, Charlene reportedly fell out with Nicole after she put her step-son Alexandre up in the Palace's staff wing. While she has previously had a frosty relationship with Albert too - claiming he 'doesn't want to see his son' - she has recently lavished praise on the monarch - sharing a photo with him on a birthday of his with the caption: 'Happy birthday Albert. The world will recognise you as The Loyal, the Dignity, the KING'. In November 2022, she shared another shot of Albert with Alexandre and Jazmin in New York, with the cheeky caption: 'Paternally king'. Coste gave birth to her son Alexandre Grimaldi-Coste in August 2003, two years before Albert, then heir to the Monegasque throne, started dating Princess Charlene, who he went on to marry in 2011. Nicole and Albert had dated for five years and the Togo-born beauty had made public appearances with her royal beau and even met his late father, Rainier III. But Alexandre's existence was only made public in May 2005 when Nicole gave an explosive tell-all interview to French magazine Paris Match, claiming her then two-year-old son was Albert's. Two months later, shortly before he was enthroned, Albert confirmed he had fathered Alexandre. The following year he also admitted he had a daughter Jazmin Grimaldi, born to American Tamara Rotolo in 1992. In the same interview, Nicole explained Albert has been a constant presence in his son's life, despite reports to the contrary, and had been involved in everything from his education to his birthday parties. 'Albert made a commitment from the start to be present, and to gradually bring his son into his family,' she said, in an interview translated from French. The former Olympic swimmer, 47, cut a glamorous figure in a red blouse and matching trousers as she joined Prince Albert, 67, at the annual occasion in Monte Carlo over the weekend 'Very quickly, I was reassured when Princess Stephanie became Alexander's godmother. Albert has honored his promise: things are building well and running their course, which I am delighted with.' In the almost two decades since the 2005 interview, Nicole has raised Alexandre and his older half-brothers in Geneva, London and New York, and chosen to stay largely out of the spotlight. Coste left Africa at just 15. One of five children, she was determined to make a better life for herself and so travelled to Paris to study. Their liaison became the best-kept secret among Monaco society. Although they both attended red carpet events and mixed with socialites and celebrities, the majority of Albert's subjects knew nothing of the relationship. However their initial passion waned and the relationship petered out. But in its final days, Nicole discovered she was pregnant. Nicole gave birth to Alexandre in August 2003 and in December that year Alexandre was officially recognised by Albert as his son, Nicole told Paris Match. Both Jazmin and Alexandre were struck off Monaco's line of succession in return for financial settlements.

Oscar Piastri captured in awkward moment with Princess Charlene after Monaco GP

Aussie F1 star Oscar Piastri might be regretting a slightly awkward moment on the podium with Monaco's Princess Charlene as McLaren teammate Lando Norris closed the gap on the Aussie in the drivers standings. Despite the FIA introducing a mandatory two-pit stop rule for this year's race in a bid to make it more entertaining, Piastri couldn't make any major moves on the narrow streets of Monaco. Piastri finished where he started on the grid in third with Norris and Charles Leclerc also holding their position finishing first and second respectively. Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton was one of the few drivers at the top to make up ground moving seventh to fifth. While Piastri would have been frustrated to see Norris cut his lead at the top of the drivers championship to just three points, he also would have been left a little embarrassed after an awkward moment with Princess Charlene. Monaco royalty was in attendance to present the trophies to the top three with the glamour of the most famous grand prix in the calendar on show. Piastri appeared to miss the meet and greet with Princess Charlene before the ceremony. This meant he had never met the princess before. Princess Charlene got up on the stage, alongside Prince Albert, to present Leclerc with the second-placed trophy. And because she hadn't met Piastri yet she put out her hand to greet the young Australian. And Piastri mistakenly thought she was handing him the second-placed trophy and gestured the trophy belonged to Leclerc. However, it became apparent she was just politely introducing herself for the first time. Teammate Norris appeared to hint to Piastri he might have misread the situation and the Aussie put his hands on his head after the realisation. The moment was laughed off by all involved with the McLaren drivers smiling after the incident. Fans also couldn't help but make a joke at the awkward moment after Piastri's first interaction with Monaco royalty. Some fans even suggested the funny interaction between Princess Charlene and Piastri was the most entertaining part of the whole race day with little excitement occurring on the track. 😂 can't lie was the most entertaining bit of today boys cheeks would've gone so red — Bianca (@19Biancap) May 25, 2025 Oscar telling Princess Charlene of Monaco that he's third, not second even though she was trying to shake his hand, not give him the trophy 🤣 Oscar is too damn cute haha#MonacoGP #OscarPiastri #charlesleclerc #landonorris #Formula1 — Nicole Deonanan (@alooamiga) May 25, 2025 Oscar embarrassing himself a little in front of the princess there 🙈 #MonacoGP #SkyF1 — Kibitzer (@Kibitzer_r) May 25, 2025 what was that interaction between oscar and the monaco princess 😭 — mina⁴⁴₈₁⁶ (@wdchlewis) May 25, 2025 The introduction of the two-pit stops during the race actually caused more frustration than drama with some drivers going extra slow to create a gap for a teammate in front to pit without losing positions. Tensions boiled over when Mercedes driver George Russell accused Alex Albon of 'driving dangerously slow' and 'slamming on the brakes' in a terse radio message to his team. And not all drivers felt the changes were necessary because it created more negative driving. Norris was scathing when discussing the rule change after the race, describing it as an attempt to create 'manufactured racing.' He said: 'There's not been any more overtaking here. I thought that was what was wanted. Now you just give people opportunity by luck, by waiting for a red flag, waiting for a safety car. You aren't getting a more deserved winner in the end of things.' Max Verstappen was equally as critical and even compared the race to 'Mario Kart' with some antics going on. Verstappen said "we were almost doing Mario Kart", adding: 'I get it (the new rule), but I don't think it has worked. You can't race here anyway so it doesn't matter what you do. One stop, 10 stops. Even at the end I was in the lead, but my tyres were completely gone, and you still can't pass. We were almost doing Mario Kart. Then we have to install bits on the car – maybe you can throw bananas around? I don't know, slippery surface?'

Princess Charlene Wears an Elegant Elie Saab Dress to Pope Leo's Inauguration

Monaco's Prince Albert and Princess Charlene sat front row at Pope Leo XIV's papal inauguration on Sunday. The Princess wore an embroidered powder white dress by Elie Saab with a scalloped hemline and A-line silhouette, matched with white heels and a white lace veil. Typically, only Catholic queens are permitted to wear white to the inaugural mass, and as Monaco is a principality, the crown princess is permitted as well. Prince Albert responded quickly to the announcement of Pope Leo as the 267th leader of the Roman Catholic Church, writing on Instagram on May 9, 'On the occasion of Your Holiness's elevation to the Pontifical Throne, my family and I assure You of our fervent prayers for the greatness of Your Pontificate and humbly offer our respectful congratulations. Together with the people of the Principality, we express our deepest hope that the fulfillment of this eminent and weighty spiritual mission of universal scope will be marked by many satisfactions. I ask Your Holiness to kindly accept the respectful homage of my deep and filial devotion.' As Catholic royals, the Monégasque family has long maintained close ties to the Holy See. The royal couple issued condolences to social media for Pope Francis immediately following his death and attended his funeral last month. They had been present at Pope Francis's papal inauguration in 2013 and met with him at the Apostolic Palace in Vatican City in 2013, 2016, and 2022. Princess Charlene converted prior to her marriage to Albert in 2011, in keeping with the state religion of Monaco, and is one of only seven women granted "the privilege of the white"—a permission given to Catholic queen, allowing them to wear a white lace veil in the pope's presence, as opposed to the black version required of most women. (And since Monaco is a principality, this privilege is extended to the princess consort.) The inauguration of Pope Leo could be seen as extra poignant for Prince Albert given he is also part-American through his mother, the late Princess Grace. Pope Leo XIV, born Robert Francis Prevost, is the first American pontiff, born in Chicago in 1955. Princess Charlene of Monaco and Belgium's Queen Mathilde step out for Pope Leo XIV's inauguration Mass in all-white outfits (and only 7 people in the world are allowed to wear that colour today)

The world's Royal Families arrived in the Vatican City's St Peter's Square to attend Pope Leo XIV's historic inauguration mass on Sunday. Princess Charlene of Monaco, Queen Letizia of Spain, and Queen Mathilde of Belgium looked equally stunning in all-white at the event. Charlene, Letizia, Mathilde, and Maria Teresa, the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, are allowed to wear white in front of the Pope because they are one of the seven Catholic Queens, Princesses, and Duchesses. Meanwhile, 67-year-old Prince Albert looked smart in a navy suit and a pair of black sunglasses. Today marks the Inauguration Mass of Pope Leo XIV, formerly Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, following his election on May 8. It comes after Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella of Monaco made their first Holy Communion, the royal palace announced. The heir to the Monegasque throne - also known as the Marquis of Baux - and his twin sister, both 10, marked the religious ceremony with a series of sweet family portraits shared to the royal household's official Instagram page. The First Holy Communion, also known as the First Eucharist, is one of the most important milestones in the Catholic faith. It is a key step in in a child's faith journey, symbolising their deepening relationship with Jesus and the Church, and it involves receiving the consecrated bread and wine, believed to be the body and blood of Christ. The young royals beamed as they were joined by their parents Prince Albert of Monaco and Princess Charlene at the important ceremony. A translated statement shared to the palace's Instagram page read: 'On this day of First Communion, we extend our most sincere congratulations to Crown Prince James and Princess Gabriella who received this sacrament with faith and compulsion'. It further read that the palace extended its 'heartfelt congratulations' to the prince and princess who 'received this sacrament with faith and reverence'. The prince and princess looked adorable in white floor-length robes and matching gold necklaces. Prince Jacques, appropriately called Hereditary Prince Jacques, looked wholesome as ever in a pair of black leather lace-up loafers and a well-coiffed haircut. His sister - who is younger than the future king by two minutes - donned a pair of fitting white leather shoes, while her fringe was neatly parted and styled with a gold floral headband. The siblings smiled sweetly as they posed on the grounds of the Church. Pictured: Queen Mathilde of Belgium and King Philippe of Belgium arrive ahead of the Inauguration Mass of Pope Leo XIV in St Peter's Square Their parents Prince Albert and Princess Charlene were on hand to celebrate the momentous occasion, after which they posed for celebratory photographs. The prince, 67, and princess, 47, were pictured standing behind their children and appeared to be in happy spirits. In one image, the prince, 67, firmly embraced his son's left shoulder, perhaps signalling a physical show of support for his special day. For the ceremony, Albert - who has reigned over Monaco since 2005 - donned a dark blue suit, a crisp white shirt and a grey tie. Meanwhile Charlene stunned in a stylish dark grey ensemble with gold circular buttons. The former Olympian swimmer opted for a pared back look, as her make-up was minimal and her blonde tresses appeared to be tied backwards, allowing only a few strands loose for a parted fringe. The quartet looked spectacular and appeared to be in the happiest of spirits as they smiled cheerfully for the camera. The young royals are perhaps now accustomed to taking photographs after celebrating their 10th birthdays with a set of endearing snaps. Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella of Monaco marked their milestone birthdays with a set of previously unseen family photos. The prince and princess were born two minutes apart at Princess Grace Hospital Monaco, which is named after their late grandmother, on December 10 2014. Although the children, who are the first set of twins in Monaco's royal household, occasionally appear with their parents for public occasions, they are growing up largely outside of the spotlight. To mark their birthday, the Royal Family's official Instagram account shared 12 new images of Jacques and Gabriella with their followers. The majority of the images were taken by Eric Mathon - the royals' official photographer who took their Christmas card image too. The first undated image shows Princess Gabriella in a gymnastics uniform and matching bow while wearing a medal around her neck and holding a pair of binoculars. As she beams for the camera, Gabriella's brother, who is dressed in a white polo and jeans, puts an arm around his sibling as they stand inside a gymnasium's private seating area. The photo montage also includes a candid image of the twins laughing in a garden while dressed formally for an unspecified occasion. Princess Gabriella - who wore an ivory dress and matching coat - is pictured leaning on her brother, who is wearing a navy suit and trying to control his giggles. Another image from the same occasion shows the twins making a love heart with their hands as they pose in front of a water fountain.
