Test-Driving The 2025 Toyota Crown Limited
The new-for-2025 Crown is an unsung hero in Toyota's world of flashy Camrys, mighty Tundras and the ever-popular might overlook the Crown on the highway or parking lot, or think it was perhaps something else. But no, it's a good old reliable Toyota and if it misses the flash of other models, you still get a basic, all-around, good crossover that replaces the outgoing Venza.

My trim, the Limited, can safely be called 'wagon-esque,' with Toyota's signature hammerhead front design. It's got a long-tapered side profile. Is it gorgeous? Well, let's just say it doesn't have an OnlyFans yet. Is it solid, authoritative? Yes.

The Crown Signia Limited delivers a reasonably luxurious cabin with high-quality materials including leather seats and soft-touch surfaces. You've got dual 12.3-inch displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, featuring Toyota's Audio Multimedia interface with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You've also got heated and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof and rear seats with ample legroom.
The Crown's sunroof is lovely.
The 2025 Toyota Crown Signia Limited has a starting MSRP of $47,990. Depending on options and dealer pricing, the final sticker is approximately $52,000. A less expensive option would be the XLE, starting at $44,985 and arriving with leather trim, cushioned heated and ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a digital gauge cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment display, and 19-inch wheels.
There's a hybrid system combining a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with electric motors and delivering a total of 240 horsepower. You've got an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT) and standard all-wheel drive. Mileage is a healthy 39 mpg city and 37 mpg highway.

It's a pleasant, comfortable and fairly unremarkable driving experience. Handling is smooth, brakes are responsive and the cabin is fairly quiet at speed. Visibility is great for this type vehicle. comfortable and refined driving experience, with smooth handling and a quiet cabin. In short, it's not a performance vehicle and doesn't want to be, but will certainly do a fine job around town, on highways and in inclement weather. The comparison with Lexus is honorable but not accurate.
Cargo space is somewhat less than others in this class, and the infotainment system isn't as advanced. The engine makes a lot of effort-noise when you step on it. These were not deal-breaking complaints, though.

The Crown earned top ratings in all Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) crash tests. It's equipped with its well-known Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 package as standard which includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection and so much more.
Conclusion: The Crown is made for those who want the reliability of a Toyota SUV minus the snort and belch.
