Priyanka Rewri , who stars opposite Aryavardhan in her Kannada debut Yaarige Beku Ee Loka, tells us, 'I believe that languages may differ from one place to another, but the craft of acting remains the same. Language is no longer a factor for someone to say 'no' to a film. I simply have the dialogues translated so I can truly understand the underlying emotions,' says the actor who has been part of films and TV shows in other languages. 'I love that acting allows me to live multiple lives. Through each role, I learn not only a new language, but also the culture of that place,' she adds. Priyanka tells us more about her understanding of cinema today: 'I THINK AUDIENCE SEEK RELATABLE NARRATIVES ON SCREEN' Speaking on the evolving landscape of Indian cinema and audience preferences, she observes, 'Today, if one larger-than-life movie becomes a hit, 10 other movies in the same genre are released. That doesn't work. Audiences seek relatable narratives; they need to connect with a film on some level for it to truly succeed. Take 12th Fail, for instance, its relatability resonated deeply with audiences. She recognises a shift in audience consumption habits, and adds, 'With people increasingly opting for home viewing, I'm eager to explore more OTT roles. You chase fame initially, but when that fades, your personal life comes to an end. I've seen many friends in the industry lose their peace; it's a byproduct of fame. This is why most actors now head towards spirituality – they are all seeking the peace that they've lost,' she says. 'EFFORT DOESN'T ALWAYS TRANSLATE INTO LIKES ON SOCIAL MEDIA' Speaking about the demands of public life, Priyanka shares, 'I've gone from barely using social media to now worrying about having content. Every week, I dedicate one whole day just to shoot content for the entire week, using seven or eight different looks. I put a lot of effort into my social media presence, but when it doesn't translate to likes, it's disheartening; it feels like all my efforts are going to waste.'
