Third person arrested for illegal gun possession in Danville over weekend

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — A Danville teenager is facing multiple gun charges after police said they caught him with a gun over Memorial Day Weekend. It's the second instance of underage gun possession the Danville Police Department reported happened during the weekend. Department officials said on Facebook that the teen in this instance was arrested Friday night by officers of the Problem Oriented Policing Unit. In the area of Lape Street and Virginia Avenue, the officers tried to stop a subject on foot 'for the investigation of a crime,' but the teen tried to run away. After a short foot pursuit, the subject, who was 16 years old, was arrested and officers found a loaded gun during the pursuit and subsequent investigation. The teen was taken to the Vermilion County Public Safety Building and booked on the following charges: Aggravated unlawful use of a weapon — possession under the age of 21 Aggravated unlawful use of a weapon — no concealed carry permit Obstructing/resisting a peace officer RELATED: Two arrested for illegal gun possession in Danville The following day, Danville Police arrested two other people for possessing a gun under the age of 21, making for a total of three arrests over the weekend. Officials reminded that all arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Seven people have been arrested at 74 Lock St., Nashua, following narcotics investigations that began in fall 2023, Nashua police said. On Wednesday, the Nashua department's Narcotics Intelligence Division and Problem Oriented Policing Unit and the Hudson Police served a search warrant at 74 Lock St. for the crime of common nuisances. Various quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, Buprenophine and Naloxone were seized by police. NH law states that any place that is used by drug-dependent persons for the purpose of illegally using, keeping or selling controlled drugs is deemed a common nuisance. The following people were inside when the warrant was executed. They were taken into custody, pending their arraignment in Nashua's 9th Circuit Court this month, authorities said. • Jessica Berube, 38, of 74 Lock St., was arrested and charged with sale of a controlled drug (methamphetamine), subsequent offense, special felony, and resisting arrest/detention, class A misdemeanor. Berube was released on personal recognizance bail pending her arraignment on May 29. • Andrew Sanders, 40, of no fixed address in Nashua, was arrested and charged with possession of controlled drug (fentanyl), subsequent offense, class A felony. Sanders was held on cash bail and was transported to the Hillsborough County House of Corrections pending his arraignment on May 1. • Ashley Lavoie, 30, of 74 Lock St., was arrested and charged with possession of controlled drug (fentanyl), subsequent offense, class A felony. Lavoie was released on $250 cash bail pending her arraignment May 28. • Anileah Buswell, 25, and Rodney Maulding, 38, both of 74 Lock St., Dustin Richards, 33, of Prospect St. and Noreen Mainguy, 61, of no fixed address, were arrested and charged with resisting arrest/detention, a class A misdemeanor. They were released on personal recognizance bail pending arraignment at the 9th Circuit – District Division – Nashua Court on May 29. More arrests are expected as a result of this investigation, police said. K-9 helps Danville Police arrest convicted felon wanted in Texas

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — A convicted felon, wanted on a warrant in Texas, was arrested on four different charges Saturday afternoon in Danville. On April 19 at approximately 4:30 p.m., members of the Danville Police Department Problem Oriented Policing Unit observed a man in the area of Butler and E Williams Streets. He was known to officers as 24-year-old Richard B. Sanford-Beasley, who lists a home address in Danville. Danville school bus collides with pickup truck; no one hurt The officers on scene had information that Sanford-Beasley was wanted on a warrant out of the state of Texas. Danville officers, one of whom was a K-9 handler, tried to approach Sandford-Beasley and he immediately started running. During a short foot pursuit, officers witnessed him drop a firearm that was later found to be loaded. Vermilion Co. first responders host mock accident Sandford-Beasly was then apprehended and arrested with assistance from the police K-9. Officers then transported him to the Vermilion County Public Safety Building, where he was booked on the following charges: Being wanted on a warrant Unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon Aggravated unlawful use of a weapon Obstruction/resisting a peace officer The police department is asking anyone with information on this situation to call them at 217-431-2250.
