Independent music's beloved firecracker, Paal Dabba, real name Anish, is all set to make his acting debut. Known for his unapologetic lyrics and vibrant stage presence, the Chennai-based rapper and singer will now face the camera in director Vijay Milton's upcoming bilingual project.
Produced by Rough Note Production, the Tamil-Telugu film (currently titled Production No. 5) marks a new chapter for the multitalented performer. The team officially announced the casting on Sunday, confirming that Paal Dabba will play a fresh and dynamic character that's expected to leave a mark.
Anish, who shot to fame under his quirky stage name—an ode to his childhood obsession with cold milk—has built a loyal following with viral tracks like 170CM, Kaathu Mela, and the wildly popular Galatta from Aavesham. With roots in songwriting, choreography, and rap, he's already proven his versatility in the indie scene.
Now, he's taking that same raw spirit to the big screen. Director Vijay Milton shared his thoughts on the casting, saying, 'Paal Dabba brings a raw, youthful energy that matches the spirit of the film. He's an artist who lives his truth, and that authenticity is exactly what this character needs."
Interestingly, Production No. 5 is also generating buzz for featuring Telugu actor Raj Tarun in his Tamil cinema debut.
