Suffolk Public Works Department announces road closures on Nansemond Parkway

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Suffolk Public Works Department has announced two consecutive road closures on Nansemond Parkway. Starting Tuesday, the intersection at Bridlewood Lane to north of Ryan Arch will be closed through Friday, June 6. Drivers will be detoured around the closure area. Following the first road closure, Nansemond Parkway Bridge will be under long-term closure due to construction. Beginning June 9, the closure is expected to last until summer 2026 as the bridge undergoes replacement. Progress Road will serve as the primary detour route for both closures to minimize disruptions and maintain efficient traffic flow around the construction areas. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
