Al-Sudani affirms Continued School Construction Campaign Across All Provinces Following Completion of the 1,000-School Project

Baghdad-INA Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani announced on Saturday the continuation of the school construction project under the Iraq Development Fund, noting that it will include 600 new schools. The Prime Minister's media office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA),'Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani inaugurated today, Saturday, via video conference, 210 model schools across various Iraqi provinces. These schools were implemented as part of the Iraq-China agreement, marking the full completion of the 1,000-school project throughout Iraq.' The statement added,' The Prime Minister commended the efforts of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, its National Projects Department, and the Ministry of Education for completing the project and finalizing the handover procedures. he noted that the project was implemented across three successive governments and has now been completed in full, without delay or interruption, over a span of two years. He emphasized that this milestone should serve as a fundamental pillar for revitalizing the education system, which he described as the foundation for sustainable development.' Al-Sudani stated,' that these schools will help resolve issues related to overcrowding and triple shifts, providing a new, suitable learning environment. The schools were constructed with modern designs that meet all educational needs he added that the government has given great attention to the education sector by activating stalled projects, particularly Project No. 1 and others, culminating in the completion of the 1,000-school initiative, Prime Minister praised the exemplary cooperation between the private sector and public institutions, which contributed to the successful delivery of the project.' Prime Minister Al-Sudani reaffirmed,' the government's continued school-building campaign under a new vision, which will be executed through the Iraq Development Fund, starting with the implementation of 600 additional schools he noted that with land preparation in the provinces underway, the government's efforts will soon meet all current educational infrastructure needs.' The distribution of the 1,000 schools across Iraq is as follows: Baghdad: 144, Maysan: 52, Nineveh: 92, Dhi Qar: 106, Anbar: 51, Salah al-Din: 78, Diwaniyah: 61, Najaf: 40, Babil: 45, Kirkuk: 44, Diyala: 56, Karbala: 44, Wasit: 48, Muthanna: 53, Basra: 86.
