Multiple-vehicle collision after trailer loses control
SHAH ALAM: A trailer is believed to have lost control, causing a collision involving five other vehicles at KM32.5 of the Klang-Banting road, in front of a bank in Banting, yesterday. Kuala Langat police chief Supt Mohd Akmalrizal Mohd Radzi said in a statement today that all victims aged between 20 and 50 were unhurt. He said in the 12.15 pm incident, a trailer travelling from Dengkil to Sungai Buaya is believed to have crashed into another trailer, causing it to hit other vehicles that were making way for a Proton Gen2 car to park by the roadside. 'Other vehicles hit were a Proton X90, Proton Persona, Proton Gen2, and a Toyota Alphard,' he said, adding that the trailer driver, in his 40s, holds a valid driver's licence and tested negative for drugs. The case is classified under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and inconsiderate driving. He urged the public with information about the incident to contact the investigating officer, Inspector Mazrol Mohd Din, at 011-18539115 or 03-31872222 to assist in the investigation.

Panic as trailer rams into five vehicles along Jalan Klang-Banting
KUALA LANGAT: A moment of panic struck motorists along Jalan Klang–Banting when a trailer truck lost control and rammed into five vehicles near a bank here yesterday. District police chief Superintendent Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi said the incident occurred at around 12.15pm when the trailer driver lost control of his vehicle and ploughed into the rear of another trailer and four other vehicles. "The four other vehicles involved were a Proton X90, Proton Persona, Proton Gen2, and a Toyota Alphard. "Investigations showed the vehicles had stopped to give way to the Proton Gen2, which was attempting to enter a parking space along the road shoulder, when the incident occurred," he said in a statement today. He added that no injuries were reported and all the vehicle owners have lodged police reports and had their statements recorded. "The trailer driver, in his 40s, holds a valid driving licence and tested negative for drugs. "We have seized the trailer and will send it for technical inspection as part of our investigation into the cause of the accident," he said. Akmalrizal said the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for driving without due care or attention. He also called on the people with information on the case to contact Inspector Mazrol Mohd Din at 011-1853 9115 or 03-3187 2222 to assist in investigations into the case.

Abandoned car in front of Matang coffee shop catches fire

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Operations Centre said an emergency call was received at 3am. 'The fire involved a Proton Gen 2 vehicle that had long been abandoned in a parking area. 'It was completely destroyed, including the engine compartment,' Bomba said in a statement. No injuries were reported.
