The Diocese of West Malaysia joins in mourning the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, a servant of Christ whose life and ministry touched countless lives across the world. Apr 23, 2025 Statement on the Passing of His Holiness Pope Francis The Diocese of West Malaysia joins in mourning the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, a servant of Christ whose life and ministry touched countless lives across the Francis will be remembered for his profound humility, his steadfast commitment to the poor and marginalised, and his deep pastoral heart. In an age marked by uncertainty and division, he stood as a voice of compassion, mercy, and hope—calling the world to a renewed sense of justice, love, and care for all creation. His leadership transcended boundaries, and his witness to the Gospel inspired not only the Roman Catholic faithful but many beyond his own recall with gratitude his openness to dialogue, his efforts to build bridges across faiths and traditions, and his sincere desire to foster unity in the human family. As Anglicans, we have seen in Pope Francis a Christian leader whose humility and courage echoed the very heart of our Roman Catholic sisters and brothers in Malaysia and throughout the world, we offer our deepest sympathies and prayers. In this time of sorrow, we stand in solidarity with them, giving thanks to God for the life of a remarkable shepherd who now rests in the eternal peace of Christ.'Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.' – Psalm 116:15 May Pope Francis rest in peace and rise in glory.
