Delhi CM Rekha Gupta has issued an order stating complaint boxes would be installed at various government offices, which will be monitored by her office. Along with the installation of these boxes she also ordered the updation of the Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System(PGMS) so that it becomes more people friendly and the public doesn't face any technical and procedural problems, a TOI report stated. The officials have asked to also make arrangements to receive the complaints through Whatsapp, mobile apps and toll free numbers along with written complaints submitted in the boxes. This decision was taken at the meeting with all the heads of the concerned departments and the CM assured of timely redressal of every complaint lodged. This portal would be a useful platform to inform departments about peoples grievances. She made it clear that no complaint should be unaddressed by the department. The departments will have to make an action-taken report on the complaints and all the pending grievances with the departments should be resolved immediately. The Delhi CM felt that the previous government was very callous about peoples complaints, but her government is fully cognizant of the grievances. 'The complaints either didn't reach the concerned officials or if they reached they were not acted upon,' she claimed. Her government will develop an efficient grievance redressal mechanism to ensure timely solution to peoples problems. In the spirit of good governance, she has instructed the heads of departments to monitor the PGMS portal regularly and find solutions to address peoples grievances. The CM has emphasised that there should be no hold up in complaint redressal and their actions should be more open and transparent to the common people. Meanwhile, the opposition party Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the BJP of ignoring Delhi's mounting problems, including constant power outages, a worsening water crisis, and skyrocketing school fees. The capital is experiencing daily distress, AAP claimed, while the BJP looked the other way.

New Delhi: Chief minister Rekha Gupta ordered the installation of complaint boxes at the offices of the district magistrate, sub-divisional magistrate and sub-registries on Wednesday. These will be monitored by the chief minister's office. She also ordered the updating of the Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (PGMS) to make it more accessible to the public."Citizens can submit written complaints in these boxes and CMO will ensure no grievance is overlooked and every issue is addressed in time," said Gupta. "Officials have been instructed to make provision to also receive public complaints through WhatsApp, mobile apps and toll-free numbers." The decision was taken at a meeting CM had with heads of various departments at Delhi Secretariat on Wednesday. PGMS is an online platform available to citizens 24/7 to lodge their grievances about service delivery by all departments of Delhi govt. "The PGMS portal is an effective platform through which the departments are informed about various public grievances," observed Gupta. She said that complaints kept pending by any department will not be acceptable. Accordingly, she directed the departments to prepare action-taken reports on the grievances of the citizens and to resolve all pending complaints felt that there was gross negligence of public grievances during the previous govts. "People's complaints either never reached the authorities, or even if they did, no action was ever taken," she claimed. "But the present govt is fully committed to resolving these issues." She also instructed the heads of the departments to regularly monitor pending complaints and ensure effective resolution of grievances on PGMS in the public interest so that the goal of good governance could be Wednesday's meeting, CM was emphatic that there should be no delay in grievance resolution in the future and that all departments should make their operations more transparent and accountable to the back, AAP alleged that Delhi was reeling under relentless power cuts, a deepening water crisis,and surging school fees.
