Dubai Police arrest 10 illegal street vendors during Ramadan 2025
Dubai Police have detained 10 unlicensed street vendors selling food products in public areas as part of their 'A Conscious Society, Free of Beggars' Ramadan campaign. The vendors operated without proper licences and failed to meet health standards, creating potential risks to public health. Colonel Ahmad Al Adeedi, Deputy Director of the Suspects and Criminal Phenomena Department at the General Department of Criminal Investigation, said the operation forms part of Dubai Police's commitment to maintaining public safety in partnership with other authorities, according to a statement by the Dubai Police. He called on the public to purchase food only from licensed establishments to ensure product quality and safety. Major Talib Al Amiri, Head of the Street Vendors Control Section, warned of the health hazards associated with consuming food from unregulated sources. Such products are often stored and displayed under unsafe conditions, leading to spoilage and potential foodborne illnesses, he stressed, adding that Dubai Police would continue round-the-clock patrols with partner organisations to identify and apprehend violators. Authorities have urged residents to report illegal street vending through the 901 Call Centre or the 'Police Eye' service on the app.

Dubai Police cracks down on illegal street vendors
Dubai Police has intensified efforts to combat illegal street vending during Ramadan. Ten vendors have been arrested for selling food products in public areas without proper licences and operating in unhygienic conditions. The crackdown is part of the ongoing 'A Conscious Society, Free of Beggars' campaign. Colonel Ahmad Al Adeedi, Deputy Director of the Suspects and Criminal Phenomena Department, said that such illegal activities not only breach safety standards but also create unsightly makeshift markets in public spaces, particularly near labour accommodation areas. Health concerns are also significant, as unregulated food products are often stored and sold under unsafe conditions, increasing the risk of foodborne illnesses. Major Talib Al Amiri, Head of the Street Vendors Control Section, urged the public to avoid purchasing from unauthorised vendors and instead rely on licensed businesses to ensure food safety. Dubai Police continues to patrol areas around the clock, working with partner authorities to crack down on violations. Residents are encouraged to report any illegal vending activities through the 901 Call Centre or the 'Police Eye' service on the Dubai Police App. #News | Dubai Police Cracks Down on Illegal Street Vendors Violating Public Health Regulations Details: #CombatBegging #SafetyAndSecurity #RamadanInDubai — Dubai Policeشرطة دبي (@DubaiPoliceHQ) March 11, 2025
