GDOT asking for public feedback on proposed I-16 widening

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has recently proposed a widening of Interstate 16. According to GDOT, the proposed project would widen I-16 from two to three lanes eastbound and westbound between I-95 and (SR) 67 in Bulloch, Bryan, Effingham, and Chatham counties. As part of the widening, 20 bridges in 10 locations will also be widened or replaced. The proposed project will improve existing substandard pavement conditions within the I-16 corridor. GDOT is asking for comments on the proposed I-16 Widening project (P.I. 0020168 and 0020739) as part of the Public Information Open House (PHOH) comment period. GDOT to hold open house on Savannah Bridge replacement project

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is holding an open house about the Savannah Bridge Replacement Project. At the Open House, GDOT will share information and status updates regarding potential long-term improvements for the SR 404 Spur/US 17 Bridge over the Savannah River. Those in attendance will have the chance to provide feedback about the project location, design, development and impact on local neighborhoods and businesses. The meeting will take place at the Coastal Georgia Center on Thursday, March 13 from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m., Residents are also invited to participate in the Public Information Open House comment period, which runs through Thursday, March 27.
