NYT ‘Connections' Hints And Answers For Saturday, May 31

Connections hints and answers are here. Looking for Friday's NYT Connections hints, clues and answers instead? You can find them here: Saturday has arrived but that's no reason to stop playing Connections before you fully wake up and going about your day. So read on for hints and answers. Connections is the second-most popular NYT Games puzzle game outside of the main crossword itself, and an extremely fun, free offering that will get your brain moving every day. Play it right here. The goal is to take a group of 16 words and find links between four pairs of four of them. They could be specific categories of terms, or they could be little world puzzles where words may come before or after them you need to figure out. And they get more complicated from there. There is only one set of right answers for this, and you only get a certain number of tries so you can't just spam around until you find something. There are difficulty tiers coded by color, which will usually go from yellow, blue/green to purple as difficulty increases, so know that going in and when you start linking them together. FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder You pick the four words you think are linked and either you will get a solve and a lit up row that shows you how you were connected. If you're close, it will tell you that you're one away. Again, four mistakes you lose, but if you want to know the answers without failing, either come here, or delete your web cookies and try again. If you want to play more puzzles, you can get an NYT Games subscription to access the full archives of all past puzzles. So, onto the hints and answers: These are the hints that are laid out on the puzzle board itself, but after that, we will get into spoiler territory with some hints and eventually the answers. The hints for the Connections groups today are: Alright, the full spoilers follow here as we get into what the groups are today: The full-on answers are below for each group, finally inserting the four words in each category. Spoilers follow if you do not want to get this far. The Connections answers are: Connections Surprisingly enough I got Purple Group as my first one today. I was trying to think of what RASPBERRY would connect to with no other food items listed, and then I realized really the only other thing that made sense was blowing one. That led to BUBBLE, KISS and then FUSE pretty quickly. Yellow Group used CAVITY which I know they were trying to trick me with by having PLAQUE in the same puzzle, two dental clues, but there aren't any more. HOLLOW and NOOK seemed like a good pair and then the rest followed from there. Green Group was easy, as once you figure out that PLAQUE isn't for the dentist, the other four answers present themselves quickly. Blue Group I would say was the hardest one this time around. I saw FERMENT and PROOF and thought this may have something to do with alcohol, and it was my last one solved as a default as I just really don't know anything about breadmaking. How did you do today? Follow me on Twitter, YouTube, Bluesky and Instagram. Pick up my sci-fi novels the Herokiller series and The Earthborn Trilogy.

The group holding the most number of shares in the company, around 49% to be precise, is individual investors. That is, the group stands to benefit the most if the stock rises (or lose the most if there is a downturn). Private companies, on the other hand, account for 25% of the company's stockholders. Let's delve deeper into each type of owner of Purple Group, beginning with the chart below. See our latest analysis for Purple Group Institutions typically measure themselves against a benchmark when reporting to their own investors, so they often become more enthusiastic about a stock once it's included in a major index. We would expect most companies to have some institutions on the register, especially if they are growing. Purple Group already has institutions on the share registry. Indeed, they own a respectable stake in the company. This suggests some credibility amongst professional investors. But we can't rely on that fact alone since institutions make bad investments sometimes, just like everyone does. If multiple institutions change their view on a stock at the same time, you could see the share price drop fast. It's therefore worth looking at Purple Group's earnings history below. Of course, the future is what really matters. Hedge funds don't have many shares in Purple Group. Our data shows that Base Spv Partnership A is the largest shareholder with 8.9% of shares outstanding. Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch & Cie Asset Management is the second largest shareholder owning 7.5% of common stock, and Mark Barnes holds about 7.0% of the company stock. Mark Barnes, who is the third-largest shareholder, also happens to hold the title of Member of the Board of Directors. Additionally, the company's CEO Charles Savage directly holds 3.0% of the total shares outstanding. We also observed that the top 10 shareholders account for more than half of the share register, with a few smaller shareholders to balance the interests of the larger ones to a certain extent. While studying institutional ownership for a company can add value to your research, it is also a good practice to research analyst recommendations to get a deeper understand of a stock's expected performance. Our information suggests that there isn't any analyst coverage of the stock, so it is probably little known. The definition of company insiders can be subjective and does vary between jurisdictions. Our data reflects individual insiders, capturing board members at the very least. The company management answer to the board and the latter should represent the interests of shareholders. Notably, sometimes top-level managers are on the board themselves. I generally consider insider ownership to be a good thing. However, on some occasions it makes it more difficult for other shareholders to hold the board accountable for decisions. Our information suggests that insiders maintain a significant holding in Purple Group Limited. Insiders own R248m worth of shares in the R1.8b company. It is great to see insiders so invested in the business. It might be worth checking if those insiders have been buying recently. With a 49% ownership, the general public, mostly comprising of individual investors, have some degree of sway over Purple Group. This size of ownership, while considerable, may not be enough to change company policy if the decision is not in sync with other large shareholders. It seems that Private Companies own 25%, of the Purple Group stock. Private companies may be related parties. Sometimes insiders have an interest in a public company through a holding in a private company, rather than in their own capacity as an individual. While it's hard to draw any broad stroke conclusions, it is worth noting as an area for further research. While it is well worth considering the different groups that own a company, there are other factors that are even more important. Many find it useful to take an in depth look at how a company has performed in the past. You can access this detailed graph of past earnings, revenue and cash flow. Those who invested in Purple Group (JSE:PPE) five years ago are up 170%

When you buy shares in a company, it's worth keeping in mind the possibility that it could fail, and you could lose your money. But when you pick a company that is really flourishing, you can make more than 100%. For instance, the price of Purple Group Limited (JSE:PPE) stock is up an impressive 164% over the last five years. In the last week the share price is up 2.0%. Let's take a look at the underlying fundamentals over the longer term, and see if they've been consistent with shareholders returns. See our latest analysis for Purple Group There is no denying that markets are sometimes efficient, but prices do not always reflect underlying business performance. One imperfect but simple way to consider how the market perception of a company has shifted is to compare the change in the earnings per share (EPS) with the share price movement. During the five years of share price growth, Purple Group moved from a loss to profitability. That kind of transition can be an inflection point that justifies a strong share price gain, just as we have seen here. You can see below how EPS has changed over time (discover the exact values by clicking on the image). This free interactive report on Purple Group's earnings, revenue and cash flow is a great place to start, if you want to investigate the stock further. We'd be remiss not to mention the difference between Purple Group's total shareholder return (TSR) and its share price return. The TSR attempts to capture the value of dividends (as if they were reinvested) as well as any spin-offs or discounted capital raisings offered to shareholders. Purple Group's TSR of 170% for the 5 years exceeded its share price return, because it has paid dividends. It's nice to see that Purple Group shareholders have received a total shareholder return of 87% over the last year. Since the one-year TSR is better than the five-year TSR (the latter coming in at 22% per year), it would seem that the stock's performance has improved in recent times. Given the share price momentum remains strong, it might be worth taking a closer look at the stock, lest you miss an opportunity. I find it very interesting to look at share price over the long term as a proxy for business performance. But to truly gain insight, we need to consider other information, too. Consider for instance, the ever-present spectre of investment risk. We've identified 2 warning signs with Purple Group , and understanding them should be part of your investment process. If you are like me, then you will not want to miss this free list of undervalued small caps that insiders are buying. Please note, the market returns quoted in this article reflect the market weighted average returns of stocks that currently trade on South African exchanges. Have feedback on this article?
