Firefighters stop progress of ‘Putah Fire' burning north of Vacaville
(KRON) — Firefighters are battling a 16.8-acre fire burning north of Vacaville near Putah Creek Road and Olive School Lane.
The fire initially had a 'rapid rate of spread' when it was reported at 12:53 p.m. on Monday, Cal Fire's Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit said. One structure was threatened by the fire.
As of 3 p.m., the fire is 50% contained.
'Forward progress of the fire has been stopped and firefighters have hose all the way around its perimeter,' Cal Fire said.

Five engines, one fire crew, one bulldozer and one helicopter responded to the fire.
The Putah Fire is one of seven fires that Calfire's Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit has responded to in the past 16 hours. Cal Fire is asking the public to be mindful of fire safety during hot, windy days.
'In these windy conditions across the region, and with fire activity picking up across the state, please do your part to prevent sparks that could ignite a wildfire,' Cal Fire said.
