Bray art and design graduates excel at exhibition
Encompassing everything from art, design. ceramics, print, furniture design to jewellery making, fashion design, graphic design and architectural design, this year's Bray Institute of Further Education Art & Design Graduate show, which ran from Wednesday until Friday, May 21-23, was an inspiring event for anyone lucky enough to have viewed what was on offer from this year's graduates.
The college has extensively equipped specialist art and craft practice rooms and a ceramics workshop, where a wide range of 3D ceramic skills and techniques can be explored and developed. There is also a print studio on the campus, which allows students to engage with a wide range of printing techniques, and an art studio, where 2D work such as drawing, painting and design skills are practiced.
By the end of the year, on the QQI Level 5 Award in Art, Craft & Design, students will have a collection of work compiled through a series of projects crossing over art, craft and design and each students gets to showcase their work at the annual exhibition.
It serves as a springboard for the Higher National Diploma in Art Practice, with the work of BIFE graduates from that course also on display, with many now well-equipped to set their sites on other third level institutions.
