The Houthis had halted their missile and drone strikes on Israel following the Qatar-Egypt-brokered ceasefire agreement.
However, after Israel resumed its military aggression in Gaza and imposed new sanctions, the Houthis retaliated by imposing sanctions on vessels bound for Israel, warning of further escalation unless humanitarian aid was allowed into the besieged enclave.
In response, the U.S. launched a series of unprecedented airstrikes on Yemen, as announced by the Trump administration, aiming to pressure the Houthis into halting their support for Gaza and ensuring safe maritime passage.
