Sports for All Open Chess concludes successfully
Tribune News Network Doha The Sports for All Open Chess Championship, jointly staged by the Qatar Sports for All Federation and the Qatar Chess Association (QCA), concluded at the Association's training centre after six intense rounds of rapid‑play action. More than 200 players took part in the Championship. India's Pravin Adwait captured the overall title, edging Algeria's Nasreddine Moa. Morocco's Jamal Farhi completed the podium. Among the domestic honours, Hamad Al Kuwari was named Best Qatari Player and Lian Al Kubaisi Best Qatari Female Player. Fahad Al Mansouri topped the men's U‑20 division, Ibrahim Al Janahi claimed a special award in the U‑16 category, and Mohammed Jarbi emerged as the leading Qatari U‑12 participant. At the closing ceremony, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation Abdullah Al Dosari, and QCA President Mohammed Al Mudhahka presented medals and cash prizes to the podium winners. Al Dosari hailed the strong turnout - spanning every age group - as evidence of chess's expanding footprint and reaffirmed the federation's commitment to delivering a 750‑event calendar that brings sport into the daily lives of all residents. Al Mudhahka praised the smooth organization and spirited play, noting that grassroots initiatives are essential for nurturing young talent and broadening the game's base in Qatar. He thanked players, parents and spectators for their enthusiastic support, underscoring the federation's resolve to sustain and elevate such inclusive, high‑quality events in future editions.

Media One Doha Run 2025: A Celebration Of Fitness And Community
The second edition of the "MEDIA ONE DOHA RUN 2025" brought Al Bidda Park to life as 500 participants of all ages and nationalities took on the challenge. Organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation, the event saw fierce competition across multiple race categories, fostering a spirit of fitness and community engagement. Intense Competition Across Categories Runners tested their endurance across four distances: 2.5 km, 5 km, 10 km, and an 800-meter children's race. The competition was particularly strong among youth and female participants, with several standout performances. In the 2.5 km race, Lur Amar dominated the 13-16 girls' category, while Serine Abu Zaki triumphed in the 11-12 age group. Afra Zafreen took first place among the 9-10-year-olds, and Ann Firth topped the 40+ Masters division. The open category was led by Erika M, while Caitlin McNamara won in the 7-8 years beginner's race. Natalie Van Blerk secured the Masters title in the 5 km challenge, while Sandra Halouz led the Masters category in the 10 km race. Kelsey Siss claimed victory in the open 10 km division. The men's races featured equally impressive performances. Guillaume Alinier secured the Masters title, with Ryo Okuchi excelling in the beginner's category. John Isaac dominated the 13-16 years youth race, while Brelenam Alinier took first in the open category. Adel Reddaj led the 11-12 boys' race, with Shadi Abu Zaki winning the 9-10 years category. The 5 km men's race saw Andy Hardy take the Masters crown, while Nawaf Khalil won the open category. In the 10 km challenge, Abd Al Nassar emerged as the Masters champion, while Ben Morgan clinched first in the open category. The youngest participants in the 800-meter race displayed incredible enthusiasm. Edison Leon won the girls' 3-6 years category, followed by Maya Elias and Sheikha Al Abdullah. In the boys' division, Sayar Al Tamimi secured first place, with Abdulaziz Al Mahmoud and Zain Salem finishing second and third, respectively. A Community-Driven Initiative Abdullah Al Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, hailed the event's success, emphasizing its role in encouraging active lifestyles. He highlighted the Federation's commitment to promoting fitness across all age groups, aligning with the Ministry of Sports and Youth's vision for community sports development.
