Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge gets official launch date—Here's when and what's new

South Korean tech giant Samsung has finally announced a launch date for its much-awaited Galaxy S25 Edge, which was showcased at the Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona. The firm is expected to launch the slimmest flagship from the brand. Samsung has announced in a release that the Galaxy S25 Edge will debut on 13 May at 9 AM KST (05:30 AM IST). The company suggested that the device will be the slimmest Galaxy S series member to date and will come equipped with several AI features. Moreover, it has been confirmed that the handset will house a 200MP primary rear camera, just like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. As per a popular leaker Roland Quandt, who writes for WinFuture, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is anticipated to sport an ultra-slim design, measuring 5.85mm in thickness and weighing 163g. The smartphone is expected to feature a premium construction, amalgamating a titanium frame with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back, and Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the front – materials that have promised enhanced durability. The smartphone is reportedly expected to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 1440x3120 resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Moreover, it is believed to boast an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint sensor integrated for security purposes. In terms of power, the flagship is rumored to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, paired with 12GB of RAM. For storage, the device could offer 256GB and 512GB variants. The device is believed to be equipped with a 3,900mAh battery, supporting wireless charging, and will carry an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. Quandt claims the Galaxy S25 Edge will start at €1,249 in Germany for the 256GB version, rising to €1,369 for the 512GB model. Although direct currency conversions may not reflect exact pricing in other regions, this positions the device between the Galaxy S25 Plus and the Galaxy S25 Ultra in Samsung's range. The handset is expected to launch in Titanium Jet Black, Titanium Icy Blue, and Titanium Silver finishes, with shipping in Germany reportedly slated for late May—should the mid-May announcement prove accurate.

The sequel to Sony's best headphones could be even more expensive — what we know

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Sony's WH-1000XM5 headphones are the best headphones you can buy, because they're good at just about everything you need from them. But that may not be the case for much longer, with leaks suggesting the WH-1000XM6 headphones are coming later this month. And now we might know how much they're going to cost. According to leaker Roland Quandt, over on BlueSky, Sony is probably going to increase the price of the XM6 by 10% in the European market. Presumably, he means the original €419 price tag, rather than the current discounted price. In that case, it means the XM6 would cost around €460. If that price hike extends to other markets, including the U.S, it means buyers are looking at a price tag of around $440. Assuming tariffs don't come into force and increase that figure in the process. Quandt also claims that the headphones will be available in silver, black and Midnight Blue. No sign of the XM5's Smokey Pink hue, so those of you hoping for a pair of XM6s in light pink may be out of luck. Quandt expects the headphones to arrive "soon" but didn't go into further details. Though if earlier reveals are anything to go by, Sony could officially announce these headphones before the end of May. According to a deep dive by The Walkman Blog, there are plenty of things to expect from the XM6 headphones when they arrive — the first being Made for iPhone certification. That effectively means the headphones have been tested and approved by Apple, and here's hoping it means the XM6s will have better support for Apple's Find My feature. The blog also reports, based on various regulatory document leaks, that the headphones will offer fast charging, a 3.8V battery rating and detachable earcups. It also looks like the XM5s will have the same 30mm drivers as the XM5. Other rumored changes include Bluetooth 5.3 support, a boost in antenna gain to 2.91 dBi and a MediaTek system on chip powering everything. Hopefully, if rumors on the reveal are to be believed, we should be finding out for sure in the coming weeks. Be sure to check out our Sony WH-1000XM6 hub for all the latest news and rumors. Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge full specs leaked ahead of launch: Expected features, battery, price and more

Tech giant Samsung is reportedly set to launch the Galaxy S25 Edge in May. Ahead of the proposed launch, a crucial leak has emerged, signifying nearly major specifications and features of the upcoming devices. The handset is tipped to feature a 200MP main camera with an f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilisation (OIS), accompanied by a 12MP ultra-wide lens with an f/2.2 aperture and a 120-degree field of view—though notably without OIS. A 12MP f/2.2 front-facing camera is also expected. The device is believed to be equipped with a 3,900mAh battery, supporting wireless charging, and will carry an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. While many of these details align with earlier leaks, this latest report offers further insights into build materials, camera specifications, and additional features such as wireless charging. However, Samsung's quest for a slim profile appears to come with compromises, including the absence of a telephoto lens and a relatively modest battery capacity compared to other flagship models. For Just One Day, a Mother and Child Reunite in Prison

An incarcerated woman spends a day with her child at an extended visitation house in Virginia. An incarcerated woman spends a day with her child at an extended visitation house in Virginia. Supported by By Pete Quandt Mr. Quandt is a documentary filmmaker. Prison waiting rooms are not warm places. For young children especially, visiting an incarcerated parent is often as traumatic as it is therapeutic. It's an experience filled with long waits, intimidating security measures and tight restrictions on the visit's duration. Having had a family member incarcerated for over a decade, I've seen the toll that prolonged separation has on women and their children. I've made many long drives to prisons and witnessed the limitations that traditional visitation offers. I know that even as visiting means maintaining an emotional bond, it can make you feel isolated and emotionally confused. That's what makes the program featured in our film above so rare. Here, a reunification house in Goochland County allows women and their children to experience a full day together in a warmer environment than traditional visitation. Beginning in late 2022, the house has allowed a rotating cohort of women to spend time with their children over multiple visitations. In this somewhat surreal setting, our short film 'Weekend Visits' aims to witness the emotional spectrum of excitement, tension, confusion and love between two people who care about each other deeply but who are learning what it means to be parent and child again. Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE Plus tablet could pack a surprise upgrade

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S series has consistently been among the best Android tablets you can buy, but they don't come cheap. With the standard 11-inch Galaxy Tab discontinued for this generation, the cheapest current entry is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus, which starts at $999, rising to $1,199 if you fancy the massive 14.6-inch Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. Good news for those with tighter tablet budgets may be coming soon. According to the leaker Roland Quandt, Samsung is planning a follow-up to 2023's Galaxy Tab S9 FE, when prices started at a far more reasonable $450. According to Quandt, the Galaxy Tab S10 FE will once again be available in two form factors: regular and Plus sizes. But while the former will keep the same 10.9-inch screen as its predecessor, the latter is set to grow to 13.1 inches — a 0.7-inch size increase on its Fan Edition predecessor and the regular Tab S10 Plus, both of which measured 12.4 inches. While that's still smaller than the 14.6 inches of the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, the extra screen real estate will certainly be welcome both for content creators and consumers. Our Australian Managing Editor, Stephen Lambrechts will certainly be happy — last year, he discovered how much more pleasurable it is to sketch, read comics and watch movies on the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus over the smaller internal screens of the best foldable phones. Apart from screen tech, Quandt reveals two more details about the upcoming tablets. They will apparently pack up to 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage, which suggests an upgrade for the non-Plus model at least. While the Tab S9 FE Plus could be bought in a 12GB/256GB configuration, the regular tablet started with just 6GB and RAM and maxed out at 8GB. Of course, to make it a 'FE' device, savings have got to be found somewhere — especially with previous models coming with a bundled S Pen — and the most obvious place to do that is with the processor. We've heard that the Tab S10 FE series will use the Exynos 1580 chipset, which should certainly offer weaker performance than the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 powering the regular Tab S10 series. While Samsung hasn't given any indication of when the Tab S10 FE range might arrive, one big hint is hidden on the company's official website. In the small print of an offer for a year's worth of free Good Notes to tablet buyers, the text clearly says that the offer is 'open to participants in the United States who purchase and activate a Tab S10 series, or Tab S10 FE series device by 7/31/2025.' Either that's a cruel typo, or we can expect the cheaper tablets to arrive before summer is out.
