New England's first dual-launch straddle coaster to open at Six Flags New England

AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – Six Flags New England will officially open its newest attraction, Quantum Accelerator, to the public later this month, marking the first dual-launch straddle coaster in New England. The Big E fair celebrates record attendance Flash Sale Set to deliver high-octane excitement and a unique ride format, Quantum Accelerator puts guests in a forward-leaning, motorcycle-style position as they race across 2,604 feet of track at speeds reaching 45 miles per hour. The ride launches riders twice — forward and backward — before propelling them through 11 moments of airtime, sharp curves, and a dramatic over-90-degree bank that keeps the experience both grounded and electrifying. With a minimum rider height of 48 inches and a maximum height of 6 feet 5 inches, the new coaster is designed to be accessible to a wide range of thrill-seekers. The launch-style format and straddle position–similar to riding a high-speed motorcycle–deliver an intense, dynamic sensation throughout the ride's compact yet powerful layout. The coaster's debut is expected to be one of the park's marquee attractions for the 2025 summer season, drawing both loyal local visitors and coaster enthusiasts from across the country. Check out a video, provided by Six Flags, of a birds-eye view of the coaster: Quantum Accelerator opens to all park guests on June 20 and is included with general admission or season passes.
