29 Carry-On-Friendly Products To Make You Wonder Why You Ever Checked A Bag

1. A waterproof Kindle you can consider a pocket-size portal to another dimension. It's compact, glare-free, and has a ton of storage for thousands of books, plus a battery life that lasts much longer than your seven-hour flight — up to 10 weeks! It also features adjustable warm light that's much easier on your eyes. Former BuzzFeeder Abby Kass swears by her Kindle as a travel must-have: "Yes, that is me sitting in a pool in Hawaii holding my Kindle over the water without fear or stress that if it falls in, it will break. Truly living my best life." Promising review:"I LOVE reading and being able to access a book anywhere with this thing. It is easy to navigate, very easy to read and adjust the brightness or how warm the light is. It doesn't auto adjust, but I don't need that feature. I've read in bright sunlight to dark rooms, and it's always been so clear. You can adjust the font and use the library to search whatever books you want. Makes packing books for traveling very easy. Battery life lasts me two weeks if I'm reading every day for a few hours." — R@L0 Get it from Amazon for $149.99 (available in three colors and with or without lockscreen ads). 2. A set of packing cubes to help you squeeze in more by keeping everything neat and compressed. You'll be amazed at how much you can fit in your luggage, and since everything is organized into little sections, it'll be a snap to unpack and get on with your trip! Promising review:"These packing cubes are the best. I use them for long weekends or two-week trips. They help me pack things as I would use them and locate what I need inside my suitcase, especially on trips where we change hotels every couple of days and don't unpack into the hotel closet." — Pat Get a set of eight packing cubes (also comes with a laundry bag) from Amazon for $16.99 (available in 17 colors and a set of six). 3. A pack of vacuum-free space-saving compression bags so you can bring all your bulky sweaters and jackets on that trip to Scotland. These are great for cramming as much as you can (and then some) into your carry-on, AND they make it much easier to sort through your bag to pull out toiletries or other items for security. Just pack in your clothes, roll up the bag, and watch as the excess air is squeezed out. BuzzFeed Shopping writer Emma Lord says, "HELLO, I AM OBSESSED WITH THESE. Despite all the rave reviews I was definitely skeptical of space-saving bags that didn't require a vacuum, and even as they were actively squishing my clothes into oblivion I still couldn't quite believe it. I had easily two suitcases worth of clothes I wanted to pack for a three-week trip to London, and I managed to neatly pack the entirety of my wardrobe in one roller carry-on bag. Truly all I had to do was put my clothes in the bag, push them to the bottom, and then sit on it to get the air out before sealing it up. I had tons of extra bags and make a habit of taking them with me in case other people joining me on trips need them to be able to pack souvenirs on the way home. I'm never taking a long trip without these again — these are worth every damn penny." Promising review: "I travel monthly for work, usually gone for 4–5 days. Before these, I would have to check a bag. Dress shirts and pants roll up nicely and stay wrinkle free. It's tempting to want to over-stuff these, but if you're packing golf shirts or cloths with 'slippery' fabric, they slide out of the top of the bag as you get close to the end. The clips take a minute to get used to, but after a couple of times zipping up the bags, it's pretty easy." — BigSkinny Get a set of eight from Amazon for $15.48. 4. *OR* a Stow-N-Go travel organizer that's basically a portable closet. You can arrange everything while you pack, and when you get to your destination, just hang it up and that's it! You'll have perfectly organized clothes for the whole trip. Plus, it has a zipper compartment at the bottom for putting all your dirty clothes in so they don't get mixed with clean items (forcing you to end up just washing everything when you get home). Promising review:"I just love it. I travel a lot. Now I don't have to hang anything up but my organizer. I can see what I pack and where everything is. Just love it. I can easily fit seven days' worth of outfits and three pairs of shoes in a carry-on suitcase. Just great." — Amazon Customer Get it from Amazon for $22.99+ (available in two sizes and 10 colors). 5. Some Tide sink packets allowing you to wash your smelly clothes in the sink so they don't stink up your bag. These can easily fit in your toiletries bag — even when it's packed to the brim — and you'll be so glad you brought them when you run out of clean underwear. Tide BuzzFeed Shopping editor Elizabeth Lilly is a big fan of these: "Each pack comes with three packets. And, because they *are* liquid, they'll easily slide into the side of your toiletries bag. I've packed these on international trips to much success!" Promising review: "Taking these out of the country to wash under things is exactly the right size." — Laura Wilson Get nine packs from Amazon for $6.39 (available in two scents and four pack sizes). 6. A strap to keep your personal items (neck pillow, jacket, purse, etc.) together so you can easily run around the airport without worrying about leaving anything behind. Amazon Promising review:"I love this little gadget. I used it to attach my jacket and computer bag to my luggage on an extended business trip. It made my airport walks so much easier. Now that I'm back home, I've been using it daily to attach my jacket or cardigan to my work bag or purse." — Michele Get it from Amazon for $8.99+ (available in six colors and packs of two). 7. A splurge-worthy set of Cadence Capsules that stick together ~magnetically~ and take up way less space in your bag than big pill bottles. They'll help you condense so you're bringing what you actually need (and not overpacking); plus, they're leakproof and incredibly sturdy so you can fill 'em with whatever: creams, vitamins, small jewelry — truly anything small that you want to keep safe. The "daily routine" set includes four medium and three small capsules as well as magnetic, interchangeable labels for shampoo, conditioner, body wash, moisturizer, cleanser, a pill icon, and a blank tile. They also offer skincare, bodycare, haircare, and pill case sets as well as extenders that increase the size of the capsule! And if you fall in love with these and *really* want to customize your collection, head to their site to build your own unique set. Cadence is an AAPI woman-owned small business that was founded by Steph Hon with the goal of eliminating single-use travel-sized plastics. The containers are made from recycled ocean-bound plastic. Promising review: "These containers are perfectly sized for all my travel needs, whether it's skincare products, vitamins, or even small jewelry pieces. They fit neatly into my carry-on, saving space and keeping everything organized. No more messy toiletry bags or digging around for tiny items — everything has its place with Cadence. The quality of the materials is top-notch. The containers snap together securely, making it easy to keep them organized and prevent any spills. It's such a clever and practical feature that adds a touch of luxury to the whole experience. Plus, it's oddly satisfying to hear the little click when they snap into place! "I'll be honest — the price did give me pause at first. These containers are definitely an investment, but I can confidently say they're worth it. The peace of mind they provide, knowing my products are safe and secure during travel, is priceless. Plus, the high-quality build means they'll last for many trips to come, making them a smart long-term investment." — Randy G. Get the daily routine set from Amazon for $138 (available in five colors and other sets). 8. Or a TSA-approved 16-piece travel toiletries set with a container for each and every one of your tried-and-true faves so you don't have to spend more money on the travel-size versions. These are reusable and leakproof, so your products (and other stuff in your bag!) will stay protected. The set comes with four bottles, four jars, two spray bottles, two scoopers (to help transfer creams), one funnel (to help transfer liquids), one cleaning brush, a page of labels, and a bag that everything fits in. Promising review:"I've purchased a lot of different travel sets for my toiletries over the years. Inevitably, they are hard to fill and tend to leak. This set was magic! The wide mouth made it easy to fill from a larger bottle, and the little scoops made transferring creams to the jar containers very easy and with much less mess. The only con (hardly worth mentioning) is that once you squeeze the bottle, it takes a few minutes to expand with air again, so the sides are a bit sunken. I solved that by unscrewing the top just a bit for a quick release of the vacuum pressure. I had no leaks, and plenty of containers for every toiletry." — MDC Get it from Amazon for $9.99+ (available in eight colors). 9. A Hackwith Design House shirt because there's nothing more travel-friendly than a top you can wear *five* different ways (that we know of — but you might discover more playing around with it). It's timeless because you can always change how you style it, and it's made from a high-quality fabric that's soft, breathable, and can last for years. Hackwith Design House is a woman-owned small business that creates made-to-order apparel. This shirt can be worn as a V-neck, off-the-shoulder, boatneck, V-back, and even open as a jacket. And the color is simple, which means it can be paired well with many different bottoms. BuzzFeed Shopping editor Chelsea Stuart says:"I have this shirt and I *love* it. All credit for its discovery goes to TikToker @ who I happened to stumble across on my FYP. It checks all my boxes: black, comfortable, versatile, and durable. My initial worry was that I wouldn't feel secure in it (I have a 38DDD chest and most wrap tops/dresses I've tried haven't stayed where they're supposed to), but I haven't had an issue with this! I've worn it tied in the front giving me a square neck (like the middle picture) and tied in the back giving me a V-neck up front (just like the photo on the right) — both were super comfortable, and I didn't have to adjust myself at all. As someone whose weight fluctuates, I also appreciate that this piece can handle pounds gained and lost. The fabric is medium weight, so I'll be wearing it season to season, and there's just enough elasticity in the arms that if you roll up your sleeves, they won't fall back down. All that is to say trust that I will be buying additional colors!" Get it from Hackwith Design House for $145 (available in women's sizes XS–4X and in three colors). 10. A 2-in-1 hair tool that curls and straightens so you can achieve the perfect balance of texture and shine with just one tool instead of trying to cram in multiple appliances. It's easy to pack for trips and dual-voltage so you can have gorgeous hair no matter what country you're visiting. If you're traveling to another country, just be sure to pack a plug adapter, and you'll be all set to use this styling tool while abroad! Promising review:" Traveled with just a carry-on and personal item from USA to Italy and this worked perfectly. Convenient size for luggage and worked perfectly as a curler or straightener! My hair looked cute the entire trip so I was happy!" — Jessica Get it from Amazon for $49.99 (available in two colors). 11. A portable rain hood to pair with *any* jacket so you don't have to try to cram in your practical raincoats. You can keep it in your bag for any impromptu downpours! Amazon All it is is a hood attached to a vest you can wear under *any* jacket to protect yourself (and your hair) from whatever the weather has planned. Promising review: "I love this! The quality is very nice and it fits great. Wore it last week in the rain with a coat I love that doesn't have a hood and it was perfect. It slips right under your jacket so all you see is the hood, so it pretty much blends in with your jacket. Such a great idea! Wish there were more colors and patterns, I'd order more." — Jill Hammel Get it from Amazon for $29 (available in two sizes). 12. A flying USB port with four spots to plug in your gadgets so you don't have to pack different power adapters. And bonus: This allows you to make the most of that one working outlet you managed to find at the airport! Multitasky Multitasky is a woman-founded and -run small business that began in 2020 as a way for founder Julia Xu to create products that were both functional and cute. Promising review:"It does as it says it does, allowing my Dell XPS15 to operate a pair of USB devices from my lightning port! The laptop has two USB ports, one of which is always occupied by my USB mouse dongle and the other by my protected USB drive. If I wanted to plug in my phone to switch data or add another thumb drive to transfer a device, everything might have to be disconnected, but not anymore. It was really worth it." — Liberty Get it from Multitasky for $25 (available in three colors). 13. A Subtl Beauty Stack to condense up to nine makeup products into one small stack. You can customize yours with anything from lip tints to face powder. And as convenient as it is for travel, it's also perfect to keep in your purse for any on-the-go touch-ups! Subtl Beauty Each stack also includes a mirror lid, a base, and a mini brush. Promising review:"I absolutely love how compact this product is. I have been pleasantly surprised at how natural the makeup feels and I love the natural look it provides. I originally purchased it for traveling, but have been using it daily and love it!" – Paula Bowie Get the Starter Stack from Subtl Beauty for $60 or customize your own stack starting at $12 per layer, with up to nine product types available. 14. A skyline mini wallet emergency kit packed with the practical items that are easy to forget (like hair ties, tampons, Tylenol, and more!) while still being small enough to fit in your purse — so it definitely *won't* take up too much space in your carry-on. Anne Cate Anne Cate is a woman-owned small business based in Cleveland, Ohio, that handmakes minimalist keepsakes with a skyline from more than 100 cities and colleges around the world! The kit includes a hair tie, ChapStick, two floss pics, a sewing kit, bandages, emery board, two safety pins, two earring backs, a makeup wipe, two bobby pins, two mints, a deodorant wipe, a Shout wipe, a tampon, hand sanitizer, and Tylenol. Promising review: "I'm heading to Rome this fall with my best friend and our husbands. I thought this would be the cutest little emergency case to bring along so I got each of us one. I am so excited to give it to her. She will love the Rome skyline and all the goodies inside." — Jen Get it from Anne Cate for $25 (available in 96 skylines). 15. A waterproof travel cable organizer to keep all your chargers, earbuds, and other cords from becoming a tumbleweed that takes up a quarter of your bag. It has different compartments so you can easily find what you need without any unnecessary digging or detangling! Amazon Promising review:"Excellent for travel! Nice to have a go-to individual pouch especially for the chords. Husband travels for business and this is a must, so if he's in an airport or hotel he can locate them easily and they don't get mixed with others." — Brent Webb Get it from Amazon for $9.85+ (available in three sizes and 19 colors). 16. A reusable gel lint roller that'll keep those five shirts and three pairs of pants looking pristine. It's compact, easy to throw in your bag, and all it takes to restore its stickiness is washing the interior. If you're someone who wears a lot of black, this will definitely make your life better. Promising review: "I travel frequently for work and keep this in my suitcase. Works great; I no longer carry a lint roller." — Liza Przekop Get it from Amazon for $9.99 (available in four colors and in packs of two or four). 17. A capacious travel backpack to make the most out of your personal item (just make sure you can still stuff it under the seat). It has two laptop sleeves, a secret anti-theft pocket, a USB charging port, a shoe compartment, and a bag to isolate your dirty clothes or keep liquids away from your electronics. This thing is like the LeBron of backpacks. 🏀 Promising review:"Lots of space. I bought this for a business trip so I could carry my laptop and clothes for two nights and not check a bag at the airport. This worked perfectly and looks nice." — Angie J Get it from Amazon for $23.99+ (available in four sizes and 40 styles). 18. A set of TSA-friendly travel bottles with pumps that makes traveling with shampoo, moisturizer, and other liquid products sooo much easier. You spent good money on that fancy conditioner, and you should be able to use it wherever you go! Promising review:"It's a little hard to fill but if you have a small funnel already it makes it a lot easier. They're super easy to use and really convenient for packing. A foldable jewelry organizer with an earring panel, necklace holders, padded ring rolls, and zippered compartments to organize all your different accessories. It's made from soft quilted cotton that compresses nicely so you can squeeze it in with everything else. Promising review:"My favorite traveling item! Before I was sticking jewelry in ziplock bags and in my suitcase and I'd lose them in there or they'd tangle and I was limited on what I could bring. I bring this with me every time we go out of town for business." — Kristy and Jose Get it from Amazon for $19.99+ (available in two sizes and nine colors). 20. A pack of Neutrogena makeup remover towelettes because unfortunately, you can't always bring your entire skincare routine on trips, but at the very least, you can always take off your makeup and hit the hay with a clean face. They're much more compact than any cleansing liquid or balm; honestly, you could just throw these in your travel bag and keep them in there indefinitely — and a huge bonus, they *won't* explode all over your stuff. Promising review:"Just what I needed. This worked perfectly on a recent business trip. Felt refreshing and left my skin feeling soft." — Glenda E Get a pack of 20 from Amazon for $6.88 (also available in a larger pack). 21. Or a makeup-removing cloth that can take the place of your large (read: *not* TSA-friendly) bottle of liquid makeup remover or bulky pack of wipes. To cleanse your face, all you need is this and some water! Amazon, Promising review: "This product...I have no clue how this works, but it does! Let me start by saying I was wearing a full face of makeup. I mean foundation, contour highlight, eyeliner, seriously the whole nine yards. All I did was wet it and wiped my face, my jaw literally dropped. This is hands-down my favorite makeup remover. The best part is that they are reusable so you don't have to keep buying those expensive disposables that leave your face feeling greasy." — Heather Griffith Get it from Amazon for $6.99+ (available in six colors and in packs of three or six). 22. A fast-drying microfiber towel you can fold into a compact square and fit into the smallest of carry-ons. The 4-in-1 Alleyoop Pen Pal that combines everything you need (mascara, brow pencil, eyeliner, and highlighter) into one compact tool so you can save space and still look cute. Amazon Promising review:"I love that this product is an all-in-one! It saves me so much space when I travel, and the products are high-quality too. The lightest brow pencil is still a little dark for blondes like me, but the other shades complement me perfectly. I like the lip liner the best; it easily elevates a simple lip look!" — Sam Get it from Amazon for $20 (available in three shades). 24. A travel-sized wrinkle release spray because while rolling all your clothes into a tight ball may be convenient for packing, it does leave them looking a little crumpled. Now you don't need to hunt down an iron or go to dinner with a crinkled shirt. Promising review:"Hate dragging out the old hotel iron and board, so I just spray my wrinkled clothes with this, and viola! Takes the wrinkles out, and off I go — no wrestling while putting the iron and board away. I even have a small travel iron or use my hair styling irons if I want a better finish, but this usually does the job nicely." — Audie Get it from Amazon for $8. 25. A foldable water bottle that won't take up space in your bag, and you can fill it up at the airport instead of buying overpriced water. It's also a bit easier to remember if you emptied this out before going through security, which means no getting yelled at by TSA. Plus, it's lead-, latex-, and BPA-free, dishwasher safe, and can be used for hot or cold drinks. Promising review:"Bought this water bottle for a trip to Disney World. At home, I always have my 40-ounce water bottle nearby. I was worried about walking around the park and not having quick access to water on those hot park days. We only brought a fanny pack in and didn't have room for something big. This was perfect! It wasn't too overbearing to hold and was super easy to fold up and throw in the bag when not in use. My only regret is I didn't buy two!" — E. Alarcón Get it from Amazon for $8.29+ (available in three sizes/styles and 13 colors). 26. A compact I Dew Care "Tap Secret" mattifying powder shampoo with a sponge applicator — it's not a liquid, so you don't have to take it out of your bag when going through security! It'll come in clutch when your flight lands and you've got dinner plans, but your hair is looking a little too greasy for your liking. Amazon This powder shampoo is benzene-free! Promising review: "I was looking for a dry shampoo that would be easy to use on the go for a trip I was taking. I had no issues taking this through TSA and it was so easy to use on the go. You literally just pat the poof on your scalp and then rub the powder in. I do have black hair so dry shampoo is usually very visible in my hair, but I didn't have any harder time than usual rubbing this powder in. It did a really good job of soaking up all the oil and giving my hair volume. I'm not a fan of the price for the amount that you get, but it is lasting longer than I thought it would. I would definitely recommend and will purchase again." — Teresa Get it from Amazon for $18 (available in six shades). 27. A high-quality hair conditioner bar so you don't have to deal with the extra hassle of transferring your nice conditioner into travel-sized bottles or using hotel conditioner that ends up drying out your hair. This is formulated with rice water, and reviewers love how soft their hair feels after using it! Elizabeth (that's her above) has traveled with this in her carry-on and loves it:" Here, I used hotel shampoo (it was pretty fancy, NGL), this shampoo bar, and my roommate's Moroccan Oil curl cream. The bar is basically foolproof. You rub it directly on your wet hair after rinsing out your shampoo. I normally wash my naturally curly hair once or twice a week but on this trip was taking daily dips in the sea, so I washed my hair 5x over a week. Because of this, I let the conditioner sit for a few minutes, though you probably don't need to do that if you're washing your hair your usual amount on your trip. Each bar is supposed to last 200 washes and it might do a little less for me, but I know this'll be good for many future trips!" Promising review: This is incredible! It leaves my hair feeling soft, hydrated, and healthier with every use. I was skeptical about switching from a traditional liquid conditioner, but this bar exceeded my expectations. It's compact, eco-friendly, and lasts longer than I expected." — Niki Saigeon Get it from Amazon for $13.99. 28. A 3-in-1 travel razor that's got it all — a refillable spray bottle for easy skin prep, a shea butter moisturizing bar, and two triple-blade razor cartridges. It has truly everything you need for smooth, on-the-go shaving in one compact, travel-ready kit. Promising review:" I recently traveled and had no problem with TSA. I like the moisturizer; you can just rub it in. If you have coarse hair, the blades may dull sooner than later. I preferred just to wet my leg and then spray the water. It seemed to get more of a lather for me. Super convenient!!" — Western Pa mom/grandma Get it from Amazon for $15 (available in pink and blue). 29. A mini belted pack to keep all your travel essentials close by and easily accessible — because even when traveling with a carry-on, there's still too much to dig through when you're just looking for your wallet. Don't let its size fool you; this little guy can hold a lot — wallet, phone, earbuds, keys, those all-important snacks — all while keeping you hands-free. Promising review: "I used mine nonstop for almost a year and loved the versatility. I travel a lot for my job and wanted something easy for the airport, but I ended up using it all the time. I purchased the brown color, which is more like a mauve pink, exactly what I was looking for. I used mine until it died and am going to purchase another!" — sarah noe Elizabeth also owns this — she packed it as her only day bag for a busy trip to Iceland, and not only did it hold a ton and keep her hands free, it easily fit around her waist over her outerwear. Get it from Amazon for $12.98 (available in 43 colors).

If You've Sworn Off Your Overpacking Days, These 31 Products Will Help You Fit Everything In A Carry-On

1. A waterproof Kindle because bringing all the physical (heavy as heck) books you've been dying to read would require you to check a whole extra bag. You can finally get that book list for the year checked off, all while having thousands of options to choose from in this one, basically weightless item. It also features adjustable warm light that's much easier on your eyes. BuzzFeed Shopping contributor Abby Kass swears by her Kindle as a travel must-have:"Yes, that is me sitting in a pool in Hawaii holding my Kindle over the water without fear or stress that if it falls in, it will break. 2. It also includes a bag with two separate compartments to separate the dirty clothes from the clean ones (or for your shoes and socks)! Check them out in this TikTok. Promising review:" I have seen the packing cubes all over TikTok and thought I would give it a try. I packed 10 days of outfits in two medium pouches. I took it all out and packed my clothes in my suitcase alone. The cubes are so much better. I used the two medium and my boyfriend used the large and small. We got 10 days of clothes each — in one carry on suitcase. They even allowed for enough room to put two pairs of Sandler and a pair of slides. I will never travel without these cubes again." — Amazon Customer Get a set of six from Amazon for $39.99 (available in 29 colors). 4. *OR* a Stow-N-Go travel organizer, which is basically an on-the-go closet. Thanks to this genius creation, there's no need to claim a drawer when you get to the hotel. You can arrange everything while you pack, hang it up, and that's it! 7. Plus, it frees up your hands so you can continue to sip on your cup of coffee without hassle. Promising review:"I love this little gadget. These leakproof lil' containers will hold them all securely. They're also magnetic — they'll stick together, so you don't have to be digging around your bag for one specific capsule. And a bonus? They're aesthetically pleasing and come in several colorful designs! 9. Or a TSA-approved 16-piece travel toiletries set because trying to sneak a full-sized conditioner bottle past TSA is simply impossible. This set comes with a reusable, leakproof container for each and every one of your skincare faves, so you don't have to spend more money on the travel-size versions. Also, RIP to all of our favorite (and expensive) moisturizers that we were forced to throw out because they were over 3.4 ounces. We'll never forget you. 😭 The set comes with four bottles, four jars, two spray bottles, two scoopers (to help transfer creams), one funnel (to help transfer liquids), one cleaning brush, a page of labels, and a bag that everything fits in. 10. A Hackwith Design House shirt designed to be worn six different ways (!) so you can pack REALLY light and change up the style according to the day's plans. 11. A 2-in-1 hair tool because limited luggage space shouldn't mean you have to compromise silky, straight locks or lustrous, bouncy curls. With this tool, you get both! Not only is it a breeze to pack, but it's also got dual-voltage, so you can have gorgeous hair no matter the time zone you're in. Promising review:"Don't be fooled by the tiny price or size, this little baby is serious. If you are looking for a small travel option rather than lugging your big straightener and giant curling iron around the world, than I think you'll love this. It performs really well, turning my frizzy wavy hair into a smooth and sleek style. The curling iron option also creates shiny, silky lasting curls! It's easy to transition between both. I also like the grippy handle and the fact that the curling iron clip is a different color than the straightening bars because that helps me see how I should be maneuvering it around. The voltage goes up to 240m, so you are good using it internationally without a converter (but you will need an adapter just to fit it into various foreign outlets). At this price, definitely give it a try and flaunt your tresses abroad." — Christine Get it from Amazon for $39.99 (available in two colors). 12. A Hairbrella small enough to fold up and keep in your bag so you can protect your hair from unexpectedly rainy or muggy days. It's also satin-lined, so it won't dry out your hair or cause frizz once you take it off! Amazon Hairbrella is a Black-owned small business that specializes in hats that protect hair from all kinds of weather. Promising review: "Works like a charm! course the day I get my hair done, an unexpected torrential downpour occurs and I have NO umbrella. But...I DID have my Hairbrella in my bag! This was the first time I would get to try it out since I purchased it so I was REALLY hoping it would live up to its hype. I loosely pinned my hair up with a few bobby pins, secured that sucka in place and took off! While I looked like I just exited a dunk tank after my valiant sprint to my car, my hair was BONE DRY!!! 🙌🏾 Not a drop of moisture hit my hair. Hairbrella is the TRUTH!!!" — Lina Get it from Amazon for $44 (available in 12 colors). 13. A flying USB port with four spots to plug in your gadgets so you don't have to pack different (surprisingly bulky) power adapters. This item also gets bonus points since it allows you to make the most of that one working outlet you hunted down at the airport! Multitasky is a woman-founded and -run small business that began in 2020 as a way for founder Julia Xu to create products that were both functional and cute. 14. And an always handy international travel adaptor because it has a universal input that lets you skip out on having to pack a whole bunch of different adaptors, which is *especially* useful if you're traveling between several countries! Promising review:"LOVE this adapter! I travel from time to time internationally and have always used just the 'standard' adapters found in airports. Could not pass up the opportunity to purchase this one after reading the reviews. Exceeded my expectations of what it was capable of. Used on a recent trip to Germany and it handled everything needed — laptop, cellphone (USB ports are so very welcome), alarm clock, dryer, etc. Did not miss a beat on the power provided. And, it is also attractive looking ;-) Thank you for making such a great, dependable product!" — Monkey Get it from Amazon for $19.99. 15. A Subtl Beauty Stack — if you never thought you could carry up to nine makeup products in one hand, think again. This customizable set lets you carry all of your essential vanity products in one tiny compact. Now, you can take off knowing you have a concealer, highlighter, bronzer, lip and cheek balm, *and* shine control powder all tucked away in your bag and ready for touch-ups. Each stack also includes a mirror lid, a base, and a mini brush. Promising review:"I absolutely love how compact this product is. I have been pleasantly surprised at how natural the makeup feels and I love the natural look it provides. I originally purchased it for traveling, but have been using it daily and love it!" – Paula Bowie Get the Starter Stack from Subtl Beauty for $60 (available in 19 tones), or customize your own stack starting at $12 per layer, with up to nine product types available. 16. A facial moisturizing stone that's solid, TSA-friendly, won't spill in your bag, *and* helps with facial redness and scarring thanks to its nourishing ingredients like blue tansy and tamanu oil (nicknamed "green gold"). Need I say more? Kate McLeod When you apply it, the solid melts into a silky, lightweight oil. Promising reviews: "Love this moisturizer. This leaves my face feeling silky and smooth without feeling greasy. Perfectly balanced. And I love that I can take it traveling without worrying it will leak all over the place." — Lynn A. " I had no idea how thirsty my face was until I began using the face stone. I have used so many skin care regimes, packed full with chemicals to mimic the fountain of youth, when all my face was crying out for was moisture! Now I have found a product that feeds my skin the moisture it so desperately craved. The gentle scent is food for your senses, too. My skin is truly grateful." — Suzanne D. Get it from Kate McLeod for $60. 17. A reusable gel lint roller because you already worked so hard to limit the amount of clothes you're taking — the pieces you are taking better look pristine, and this'll help you do just that! It's compact, easy to throw in your bag, and all it takes to restore its stickiness is washing the interior. Plus, it's sure to hold a special place in the hearts of all black clothing lovers. Promising review: "I travel frequently for work and keep this in my suitcase. Works great; I no longer carry a lint roller." — Liza Przekop Get it from Amazon for $9.99 (available in four colors and in packs of two or four). 18. A lightweight anti-theft backpack that packs a *heck* of a lot of stuff while being super easy to move around with. It's waterproof and has a wet bag, shoe compartment, laptop compartment, luggage strap, and a built-in charging port. It's also spacious while still being able to fit under an airplane seat. So if you suddenly start to feel chilly after all that airport chaos is over, you can just reach down and grab your jacket. Promising review:" I have sent the link for this bag to so many loved ones because it has changed the way I've traveled. I have always been the over packers having to pay excess weight fees on my luggage. Since using this bag I have been able to cut down to a carry-on and personal item most trips. Come the end of this year, my husband and I will have been on eight trips. This bag has been with us for half of them. I use it as my personal item and easily pack shoes, a large cosmetic bag, hair tools, clothes, a steamer, snacks, chargers, and other small items — it holds so much. The cream color is very stylish and it is easy to clean. I cannot explain enough how much I love it. I'll be ordering my husband one in another color for our longer trips." — Mads Get it from Amazon for $22.79+ (available in three sizes, two styles, and 32 colors). 19. A set of TSA-friendly travel bottles with pumps if you were finally influenced to purchase that one fancy conditioner and want to make use of it wherever you go. This makes traveling with liquid products *so* much easier, all while allowing you the convenience of toiletry bottles with pumps! Promising review:"It's a little hard to fill but if you have a small funnel already it makes it a lot easier. They're super easy to use and really convenient for packing. I use it for the gym, travel, and I also travel for work often and it comes in handy there." — Kelsey Jacobi Get a set of two from Amazon for $6.99 (available in three colors). 20. A jewelry organizer for anyone that'll just skip out on jewelry when they find it got too tangled up in your luggage...*raises hand*. This has plenty of space for all your shiny little accessories and keeps them compactly organized and ready for you to grab 'n' go. Promising review:"Best jewelry travel pouch ever. Plenty of room for all my travel jewelry needs. Half the size of previous pouches I have tried and holds more than any of them." — T Rex Mom Get it from Amazon for $15.99+ (available in two sizes and 12 colors). 21. The 4-in-1 Alleyoop Pen Pal, aka your handy lil' beauty companion that combines everything you need (lip liner, brow pencil, eyeliner, and highlighter) into one compact tool so you can save space and still look gorgeous. 22. A travel-size wrinkle release spray because it works wonders on those outfits that have been cramped up in your suitcase after long flights! This releases the fibers in your clothing to help smooth it all out — because we just don't always have time to whip out the iron. And, let's be also just too lazy. Promising review:"Hate dragging out the old hotel iron and board, so I just spray my wrinkled clothes with this, and voila! Takes the wrinkles out, and off I go — no wrestling while putting the iron and board away. I even have a small travel iron or use my hair styling irons if I want a better finish, but this usually does the job nicely." — Audie Get it from Amazon for $8. 23. A 3-in-1 travel razor so genius, I'm mad I didn't think of it first. It's got a refillable spray bottle for easy skin prep, a shea butter moisturizing bar, and two triple-blade razor cartridges — you can *literally* hold your whole shaving routine in the palm of your hand! 24. A mini belted pack that'll surprise you with just how roomy it is, especially for those extra knickknacks you'd prefer to have in a more easily accessible place than in your actual carry-on. Use it to keep your phone, wallet, headphones, and maybe even a protein bar to snack on close to you and easily accessible. It's also great for use on the plane so that your small essentials are never out of reach! Promising review: "I used mine nonstop for almost a year and loved the versatility. I travel a lot for my job and wanted something easy for the airport, but I ended up using it all the time. I purchased the brown color, which is more like a mauve pink, exactly what I was looking for. I used mine until it died and am going to purchase another!" — sarah noe Get it from Amazon for $12.98 (available in 42 colors). 25. A comfy, ergonomic Trtl neck pillow because it won't take up any extra space in your bag like those big, puffy travel pillows do. Plus, this one's got soft fleece support that might actually make a restful nap on a plane possible. Its ergonomic design keeps your head from nodding back and forth to help avoid aches and strains. Your activity-packed trip will probably already deprive you of sleep — might as well get as much as you can on the way there! Unlike the regular U-shaped pillows, Trtl Pillows are machine-washable and fast-drying. Check it out on TikTok here. Promising review: "Used it for a 14-hour flight to Japan last week, and it helped tremendously. This was the first time I was able to sleep on the plane so this helped tremendously. Definitely a must-have for travel. It is very light so I was able to easily pack it in my under-the-seat wheeled trolley. I want to emphasize how much the light warmth of the fleece (and I don't like being hot) was just right to help me nod off to sleep. Since this is primarily for sitting upright in the seat or someone in the middle or the aisle seat, this was ideal for me. I just got back yesterday. Again I used it — this time for a 12-hour flight." — Ambience Get it from Amazon for $64.99 (available in five colors). 26. A travel shoe bag to help you compactly pack your footwear so that they don't have to touch the clean clothes they're sharing a suitcase with. It helps organize sneakers, sandals, and flats so that your clothes stay spotless. It's designed to fit at least three pairs, but some reviewers say they fit up to five! Promising review:"You can totally fit three pairs of shoes in this! (Women's size 6.5 shoe, fit heels, wedges, and sandals.) I bought two and will absolutely be buying more for my husband. 10/10 would recommend! I travel frequently, and I always overpack; this helped cut down space and stress immensely!" — Taylor Get it from Amazon for $14.99 (available in nine colors and patterns). 27. A lightweight, water-resistant Neutrogena SPF 50 face and body stick sunscreen that's TSA- and carry-on friendly because *solids* are truly the name of the game when it comes to your skincare necessities and plane travel. Amazon BuzzFeed Shopping editor Elizabeth Lilly brought this on an international trip and loved it:"I first bought this for a week-long Croatian vacation last year when I did carry-on, and as long as you are *thoroughly* reapplying, this stuff stays on pretty well. On a beach club afternoon, I did haphazardly reapply and missed a strip on one arm, but I tend to do that with spray-on or lotion sunscreen, too. Since then, I've packed this for any trip I've been on, including a two-day Disneyland trip where I toted this around in my bag and shared with friends. I sometimes carry it with me in my purse on my everyday adventures because I know it's so easy to apply. Also worth mentioning...I am about the palest lady you've ever seen and swear by daily application of sunscreen. But when on a beach trip, I'm constantly swimming in the water and sweating. So yeah, this stuff works. And if you're a bit hesitant about jumping on the solid sunscreen bandwagon, you can pack a stick of this, knowing you have enough sun protection to get you through to finding some spray-on or lotion SPF at your destination." Get it from Amazon for $9.88. 28. A hands-free (rotating!) phone mount so you can ditch the heavy laptop and use this instead with your tray table, chair arm, luggage handle, or really any flat surface! They can dare to delay your flight again — you'll just sit back and sip your chai tea latte as you commence your Bridgerton marathon re-watch and block out the busy buzz of the airport. Promising review: "I bought this nifty gadget about six months ago for a multi-leg, ultra-long-haul trip and it more than held up the entire duration. I was able to finagle it to fit the tray tables on different planes and like others, I find the height just nice when clamped onto a stowed tray table. It also works on my roller carry-on handle during layovers. However, I find myself using it a lot outside of travel, too! Work-wise, I've clamped it onto my office desk shelving to hold my phone at eye level beside my computer. At home, I simply clamped it to a deck of cards and it turns into a versatile stand that I can place on any flat surface. Heck, I've been using it to hold my phone comfortably at eye level while watching videos in bed. It's extremely well-built and I find myself fidgeting with it all the time. Thus far it still feels solid and I don't anticipate breaking it any time soon. Even if it does break, I'll be happy to buy another one or two of it!" — Earendil Get it from Amazon for $13.97+ (available in five colors and in a pack of two). 29. A pack of three compact pill organizers that make packing your daily vitamins and just-in-case medicines convenient *without* having to deal with bulky bottles. They each have eight moisture-proof compartments, a double lock so that every pill stays in its place, and they come with handy labels. You can also use it for packing jewelry, hair ties, earbuds, and more. Promising review:"These travel pill cases are totally worth it! We are always out and about traveling, and this case helps keep the travel pharmacy organized! No more clunky pill bottles. The pill case is very sturdy and has a clasp that stays tightly latched. The compartments on the inside are easy to open with plenty of storage for pills. I was able to fit about 10 larger pills into the smaller compartments. It's nice to have the larger compartments too. You can fit wrapped cough drops or other medications in those. Highly recommend!!" — Sydney Tamsula Get a three-pack from Amazon for $8.97 (available in two color packs). 30. A pack of mini disposable pre-pasted travel toothbrushes because hours on a plane can make your breath a lil *stanky* (especially after that coffee you had in the airport). These fit easily into your bag without taking up any room and will keep your breath minty fresh. Plus, they're sugar-free and don't require any water or rinsing! They're also great for freshening up after meals and for folks with braces. Promising reviews: "PERFECT for travel. When I travel, I always keep a pack of these in my purse/backpack. There is nothing worse than stinky/gritty breath after a long travel day and you can use these super easily and non-conspicuously. I always feel weird brushing my teeth at the airport, so this is a great alternative if you need something quick." — Berea Janzen "I do lots of traveling and keep a pack of the disposable mini toothbrushes in my backpack and carry-on luggage. Perfect size and I can use them use about anywhere." — Saving4Retirement Get a 24-count pack of four from Amazon for $23.84 (also available as a smaller size). 31. A super compact portable white-noise machine to help soothe you after a long day of touristy activities. It'll block out the sounds coming from the elevator, the ice machine, and anything else with a vendetta against a good night's sleep. Plus, parents swear by it for their little ones! Promising review:"I was skeptical at first about how well this little noise machine would work in my hotel room (I am a frequent business traveler). However, skepticism gave way to satisfaction. This little sound machine blocked out hotel noises very well and helped me sleep through the night. For a little machine, it provides very good volume and different noise options. I highly recommend this product!" — Amazon Customer Get it from Amazon for $19.99+ (also available with a case, as a two-pack, and in black). If You're The Type Of Person Who Tries To Stuff Their Entire Life Into A Carry On, You Should Check Out These 29 Space-Saving Products

1. A waterproof Kindle to carry an entire library's worth of books so you're always entertained during that eight-hour flight, that pool-side vacay, or during some downtime in the Airbnb while you're waiting for your always-chronically-late-friends to finish getting ready. After all, not only does it carry thousands of downloaded books, but the battery life lasts up to 10-freaking-weeks!!! It also features adjustable warm light that's much easier on your eyes. BuzzFeed Shopping contributor Abby Kass swears by her Kindle as a travel must-have: "Yes, that is me sitting in a pool in Hawaii holding my Kindle over the water without fear or stress that if it falls in, it will break. 2. A set of packing cubes for smushing down any bulky articles of clothing into the perfect size to slide comfortably into your carry-on — no vacuum suctioning required. Promising review:"I travel frequently and travel light. My luggage is usually limited to a backpack that slides under the airline seat. For a two-week European cruise, I added a carry-on rolling suitcase. I've used these packing cubes twice so far, and I am hooked. One cube holds everything (including clothing) I take on a three-night trip. The cube slides into my pack, saving massive amounts of room, and everything is easy to find during travel and at the hotel. Taking out one cube and unzipping is much better than digging through a pack! I will never leave home without these!" — Gura Get a set of four packing cubes (also comes with a laundry bag) from Amazon for $21.99 (available in 25 colors and two sets). 3. Or a pack of vacuum-free space-saving compression bags so you can pack three times the clothes without needing to spend that extra moolah baggage fees. And there's no need for a vacuum since these bags come with a pump that will suck out all of the air and keep your clothes as compressed as possible. Just pack in your clothes, roll up the bag, and watch as the excess air is squeezed out. BuzzFeed Shopping writer Emma Lord says:"HELLO, I AM OBSESSED WITH THESE. The clips take a minute to get used to, but after a couple of times zipping up the bags, it's pretty easy." — BigSkinny Get a set of eight from Amazon for $15.98. 4. *OR* a Stow-N-Go travel organizer that comes with built-in shelves, so you don't have to completely unpack when you're only making a quick weekend trip for the holidays. You can just pull it out of your suitcase and hang it in your closet. 5. Some Tide sink packets because it is absolutely necessary when you want to pack as few clothes as possible and are fighting the urge to pack 30 different undies for your trip. Just rip open one of the packs and pour it into any sink full of water — instant suds for a wash on the go. 6. A strap can hold your essentials, like a travel pillow, jacket, personal item, and more, as you scoot along through the airport. Here's to quickly gathering all your stuff post-screen and freeing up those hands! 7. A splurge-worthy set of Cadence Capsules for holding all of your needed toiletries together without hogging all the room in your luggage. The magnetic sides make it possible for you to organize these in the best way needed to fit in your case (without easily losing one). Plus, they're super sturdy, leak-proof, and even work great for a few days' worth of vitamins or holding small jewelry. 8. Or a TSA-approved 16-piece travel toiletries set so you can minimize the amount of space your bathroom essentials take up in your backpack. These bottles are perfect for carrying all your fave beauty products and are set in a leakproof bag so that you don't have to worry about getting shampoo stains on your clothing as you wheel your carry-on down the ramp. 9. A Hackwith Design House shirt for people who don't want to overpack but love the idea of a single shirt that can be styled in six — yes, SIX — different ways! You can wear this shirt again and again without anyone being the wiser. 10. A 2-in-1 hair tool so you're not trying to stuff two separate tools into your luggage — but you're well aware of the fact that you can't possibly survive without both a curler and a straightener. Plus, it's dual voltage for international travel! Amazon, Promising review:"Don't be fooled by the tiny price or size, this little baby is serious. At this price, definitely give it a try and flaunt your tresses abroad." — Christine Get it from Amazon for $49.99+ (available in two colors). 11. A portable rain hood you can slip on under any (yes, ANY) jacket, so even your favorite coat can now boast a hood. Wish there were more colors and patterns, I'd order more." — Jill Hammel Get it from Amazon for $29. 12. A Subtl Beauty Stack so instead of lugging around a whole makeup bag (which, let's be honest, takes up wayyy too much space), you can condense up to nine makeup essentials into one small stack! This simple washcloth can safely go through TSA (since your regular full-size bottle of liquid certainly cannot), and all it needs is some water to wipe your face clean. Just toss it into your fanny pack so you can make a quick touchup while onboard the plane. 22. A fast-drying microfiber towel that can fold itself down to be so small it's sure to fit in or be clipped onto any overpacked carry-on. A travel-size wrinkle release spray because you can't fit an entire iron and board into your carry-on, but you'd still rather not go around on your vacation looking like a wrinkled mess. Promising review:"Hate dragging out the old hotel iron and board, so I just spray my wrinkled clothes with this, and viola! Takes the wrinkles out, and off I go — no wrestling while putting the iron and board away. I even have a small travel iron or use my hair styling irons if I want a better finish, but this usually does the job nicely." — Audie Get it from Amazon for $6.05. 24. A compact I Dew Care "Tap Secret" mattifying powder shampoo so you don't need to carry around a bottle of your favorite aerosol version that's liable to take up wayyy too much space in your already overpacked luggage. This lil' baddie will become your absolute favorite as it comes in a compact travel case, soaks up excess hair oil, and volumizes your locks so that your hairstyle will get compliments no matter where you go! 25. A high-quality hair conditioner bar that can easily get through TSA (unlike the large bottle of conditioner you usually have), so you're not trying to buy some at a random drugstore in a foreign town. Elizabeth Lilly / BuzzFeed Elizabeth (that's her above) has traveled with this in her carry-on and loves it:" Here, I used hotel shampoo (it was pretty fancy, NGL), this shampoo bar, and my roommate's Moroccan Oil curl cream. It's compact, eco-friendly, and lasts longer than I expected." — Niki Saigeon Get it from Amazon for $13.99. 26. A neck pillow you can stuff with clothing for sneaking in that extra outfit (or two) you just couldn't jam into your luggage. It's literally the perfect way to utilize every single square inch of space physically possible. Plus, you can make sure you have those spare clothes on hand if you need a quick outfit change once you land. Check out a TikTok showing how someone used a similar neck pillow to just take that and a personal item onto a RyanAir flight that was charging for hand luggage. Promising review: "The Tube Pillow was a savior on my last trip. It held a surprising amount of clothes and doubled as a dirty laundry bag. I used it as an on-the-lap pillow, but it was a tad awkward to maneuver. For extra storage without extra fees, it's worth it!" — Sharon Get it from Amazon for $49.95. 27. A 3-in-1 travel razor that's got literally everything you need for a quick shave on the go: a refillable spray bottle for easy skin prep, a shea butter moisturizing bar, and two triple-blade razor cartridges. This compact razor is the perfect addition to toss into your suitcase. 28. A foldable water bottle to take up very little space when every square inch counts. It'll be incredibly helpful when you want to take a bottle of water onto the plane but don't have the time to buy one at the gate after spending hours waiting at the TSA line (which seemingly gets longer and longer every time you fly). Alarcón Get it from Amazon for $8.29+ (available in three sizes/styles and 14 colors). 29. A mini belted pack that can keep your most valuable items strapped close to your chest — it's necessary while you weave through busy airport terminals. I travel a lot for my job and wanted something easy for the airport, but I ended up using it all the time. I purchased the brown color, which is more like a mauve pink, exactly what I was looking for. I used mine until it died and am going to purchase another!" — sarah noe BuzzFeed editor Elizabeth also owns this — she packed it as her only day bag for a busy trip to Iceland, and not only did it hold a ton and keep her hands free, it easily fit around her waist over her outerwear. Get it from Amazon for $12.98 (available in 42 colors).
