How to calculate your destiny number
I meticulously calculate destiny numbers, transcribing names and their numerical equivalents into my notebook.
In numerology, your Destiny Number—also known as the Expression Number—reveals your natural abilities, potential, and the goals you are destined to pursue in this lifetime. While your Life Path Number is based on your birth date, the Destiny Number is calculated using the full name given at birth.
This includes your first, middle (if any), and last name.
Each letter of the alphabet is assigned a number from 1 to 9 as follows:
A = 1 B = 2 C = 3 D = 4 E = 5 F = 6 G = 7 H = 8 I = 9
J = 1 K = 2 L = 3 M = 4 N = 5 O = 6 P = 7 Q = 8 R = 9
S = 1 T = 2 U = 3 V = 4 W = 5 X = 6 Y = 7 Z = 8
To calculate your Destiny Number:
Write your full name as it appears on your birth certificate. Convert each letter to its corresponding number. Add the numbers of each name separately. Reduce each total to a single digit or master number.
Add those reduced numbers together and reduce again to a final single digit or master number.
Example:
Name – RAVI SHARMA
R = 9, A = 1, V = 4, I = 9 → 9 + 1 + 4 + 9 = 23 → 2 + 3 = 5
S = 1, H = 8, A = 1, R = 9, M = 4, A = 1 → 1 + 8 + 1 + 9 + 4 + 1 = 24 → 2 + 4 = 6
Now, add 5 + 6 = 11 (Master Number, so not reduced further)
So, the Destiny Number is 11.
Each number reflects a set of characteristics and life direction - 1 to 9 represent leadership, harmony, creativity, and other traits. Master Numbers like 11, 22, and 33 indicate higher spiritual potential and responsibility. Your Destiny Number can guide you in choosing the right career, developing talents, and understanding your life's mission. It adds a deeper layer of self-knowledge when used along with your Life Path Number.
