Fate of SI exam hangs in balance

Jaipur: The fate of Rajasthan Sub-Inspector and Platoon Commander Recruitment Exam 2021 continues to hang in balance as the cabinet sub-committee appears unable to reach a consensus. Rajasthan High Court set May 26 as the deadline for a final decision, but Tuesday's meeting of the committee ended inconclusively, sources told TOI. While the cabinet panel stated it completed its deliberations and will submit its report to chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma for a final call, sources say that many in the administration are hoping that the high court will deliver the ultimate verdict—relieving the state govt of having to make a politically sensitive decision. "In the past meeting with the same committee, the investigation agency laid out in clear terms the perils of not cancelling the exam as several selected candidates cleared the exam through dummy candidates. "The committee's tilt was hard to decipher," said a highly placed source. "They neither appeared keen to cancel the recruitment nor did they seem fully in favour of continuing it.
