Mpox case logged in Magsaysay, Davao del Sur
The local government of Magsaysay, Davao del Sur has reported that the town has detected an Mpox case. According to the Rural Health Unit of Magsaysay town, the patient is in isolation and under close monitoring, along with the family members, as of this writing. RHU did not disclose other details, including where the patient contracted the disease. RHU reminded the public to be vigilant and follow proper protocols to prevent the spread of the virus. These preventive measures include frequent handwashing or use of alcohol-based sanitizers; avoiding crowded places; and refraining from skin-to-skin contact. The local government urged anyone experiencing symptoms to seek medical attention immediately. Mpox symptoms include fever, chills, muscle pain, swollen lymph nodes, extreme fatigue, headache, sore throat, anal pain, and painful urination. Mpox is caused by the monkeypox virus and usually results in mild illness with rashes. The health department recommends wearing face masks in crowded areas and frequent handwashing.

Education Minister orders closure of educational institutions in Beirut's southern suburbs and Hadath due to Israeli threats
In response to Israeli threats targeting the southern suburbs of Beirut and the Hadath area, Lebanon's Minister of Education and Higher Education Rima Karami has issued a directive for the closure of all public and private schools, secondary schools, and vocational institutions in these regions. This includes the Rafik Hariri University (RHU) in Hadath. The decision also calls for the evacuation of students, teachers, and administrative staff, urging caution when transporting children to ensure their safety.
