Tesco's £50 suitcase 'just like' £785 version 'too good to say no'
Shoppers say they are 'running' to Tesco to find the popular Clubcard deal they 'can't resist' Tesco shoppers are racing to stores for a £50 Clubcard deal, which they say is "too good" to turn down. The supermarket giant has wowed luxury luggage fans with The Manhattan Metallic Collection, as customers think the suitcases look just like RIMOWA's premium luggage. As seen on TikTok, Tesco's collection offers various sizes and colour options, and shoppers can save up to a third on the recommended retail price with a Clubcard. For instance, there's a small case on offer for £40, down from £55, with a Clubcard. There's also a large case on offer for £50, down from £75, with a Clubcard. The colour options include silver, gold and blue suitcases. RIMOWA's suitcases are much more expensive. Known for its high-quality luggage, the luxury label's Essential Check-In M suitcase costs £785, while the Original Cabin costs £1,070. The high-end suitcases are available in various colours, including silver, titanium, and blue options. Despite the price difference, the Tesco suitcases arguably resemble the pricier alternative. Both hard-shell suitcases offer a metallic look that has impressed shoppers. However, the product design will differ between each brand. Tesco's offering has gone viral on TikTok, prompting shoppers to race to stores for the suitcases. In one viral video, @Bychxrise wrote: "Girlies run to Tesco for the ultimate rimowa [alternatives]." She added: "Tesco providing the goods - the purple had to come straight home with me tbh." Elsewhere, @Jade_halley filmed herself buying one of the suitcases. Her caption said: "You fell for the Tesco rimowa [alternative]." Yet another shopper who compared Tesco's suitcase to the luxury brand posted a video as @Hannahelizabethholliday. "I have fallen victim to the Tesco rimowa suitcase," she claimed, adding: "Too good to say no." The videos were flooded with comments from excited shoppers. Someone replied: "My holidays are about to get even more exciting I'm on my way." A second viewer wrote: "NO I'm hoping they still have one by my pay day." A third said: "Gorg I don't even need a suitcase but I wanna get one." A fourth added: "Getting in my car to go tesco right now." Equally excited, a keen shopper said: "Running as we speak." Another response read: "These are stun!!!!" Someone else praised: "These are a slay," and a fan echoed: "Omg obsessed." Elsewhere, shoppers who got the suitcase praised their purchase. A buyer said: "I got the silver!!! Literally got stopped about 10 times around the shop with people asking." A customer commented: "I bought the silver yesterday & it actually fits so much!!" Another said: "I have the silver one and it's actually so good," and a commenter agreed: "I got the silver one last year and it's brilliant!" Someone else replied: "They also have these in b&m guys for like £20."

RIMOWA Teams up With Vitra For Limited-Edition Collection
RIMOWAandVitrahave revealed a limited-edition collection made up of two pieces: a mobile stool, and a toolbox. Marking the first collaboration between the German luggage manufacturer and Swiss furniture brand, the two pieces are inspired by the 'rhythm of modern life', and are designed to be multifunctional, while also paying homage to both brands' work with aluminium. They're also designed to be mobile, especially in the case of the stool, which is set upon the brand's Multiwheel system. The outer shell is distinctly RIMOWA, and is crafted iconic grooved aluminium, while the interior is typically Vitra, and is upholstered with fabric and organised into storage sections. An upholstered pad can be added to the top, allowing the movable storage system to turn into a comfy perch. 'Vitra enters very few collaborations hence the brands we collaborate with has to resonate with our values, our design approach and our aesthetics – there has to be an obvious common ground,' Christian Grosen Ramussen, Chief Design Officer at Vitra, told Hypebeast. 'That said differences are also crucial since that's what creates the spark, the surprise and the new. In a collaboration there has to be synergies for the brands involved. 1 plus 1 must equal 3 or even more. Otherwise, it doesn't make sense.' The toolbox is a riff on the Vitra Toolbox designed by Arik Levy in 2010, but instead of being formed from recylced plastic (as standard), it comes in RIMOWA's signature anodized aluminium. Again, as a nod to Vitra's upholstery expertise, the compartments are lined with recycled fabric. The collaboration doesn't end at the design of the pieces: both are jointly manufactured at RIMOWA and Vitra's factories in Cologne and Weil am Rhein respectively. 'Vitra and RIMOWA are two iconic brands known for their material expertise and distinctive design,' adds RIMOWA CEO Hugues Bonnet-Masimbert. 'Sharing a passion for durability and craftsmanship, this collaboration perfectly embodies the essence of 'design' – where innovation and aesthetics come together.' The Aluminium Stool and the Aluminium Toolbox will be launching on June 18th, 2025, accompanied by an installation on the Vitra Campus. The Aluminium Stool will retail at €2,200 with 1000 pieces available, while the Aluminium Toolbox will be priced at €550, and limited to 100 pieces. Both will be available exclusively in Europe via and at selected flagships worldwide.
