Oman asks property owners to finish formalities for rail project compensation
By OUR CORRESPONDENT
Muscat – Oman's Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has called on citizens whose properties are affected by the North Batinah railway project to complete formalities for cash and in-kind compensation.
In an official announcement, the ministry urged affected residents to visit the Directorate General of Housing and Urban Planning in Suhar between May 18 and May 30, during regular working hours.
The compensation process applies to all land uses impacted by the rail project – residential, commercial and industrial.
Applicants are required to present original identification documents. In cases where the property owner is unable to attend in person, a valid power of attorney is needed. The original title deed of the affected property must also be submitted.
The Oman-UAE Railway Project, which involves investments amounting to RO1.15bn and spans 238km, is part of Oman's wider push to expand its transport and logistics infrastructure and is expected to play a significant role in connecting key economic zones and reducing travel time.
