‘I can't believe it' cries RTE Cheap European Homes contestant as she finds ‘amazing' Italian home in final episode
AN RTE Cheap European Homes contestant has found her dream home in Northern Italy. In the final episode of the show, which aired tonight, Maggie visited properties in Northern The mum-of-three was at a cross-roads in life with her children grown up and independent, and she was looking for a fresh start. She recently sold the family home and guided by her heart, with some help from her son, she embarked on a life-long dream of living in Italy. Advertisement READ MORE ON RTE The home hunter was looking for a house where she could work remotely and embrace a new lifestyle - with a budget of €220,000. She also wanted a bright property, with a balcony and a house that is in walking distance of a town, so that she can meet new people. Maggie immediately got to work and found a three-bedroom villa in the village of Noax. Although it needed a lot of work done, it was a bright and spacious house with fantastic views. Advertisement MOST READ IN THE IRISH SUN This renovation project was on the market for €95,000 - leaving plenty of room for Orla to transform it into her "dream home". Upon arrival, Orla said: "It's big and it's not finished. That's fine, open mind but location wise, it's fabulous." RTE Cheap European Homes property hunter left gushing at 'unique' spanish villa Overall, the selling point for her was the view and the space to put a swimming pool, but Orla admitted she was "worried" about the amount of work that needed to be done. Next up was a beautiful six-bedroom family villa in Plasencis, which was on the market for €145,000. Advertisement The property also had a two-bedroom ground floor apartment and a two-storey stone building beside it. This home, over 300 years old, was certainly a "step up" from the last house as it was in very good condition, heated and well-maintained. 'AMAZING' Orla was blown away by the "stunning" Plasencis house and after viewing it, she said: "Oh amazing, really, really, really amazing." After finding out the price, she added: "You're after just flooring me, I want to buy it, I can't believe it." Advertisement Before Orla made any decisions, Maggie had one more option to show her. In the village of Udine, there was a two-bedroom apartment on the market for €215,000. The Dublin native admitted this turn-key apartment was "amazing" and very "convenient". However, Orla decided to "go with her heart" as she chose the stunning home in Pasencis. Advertisement Maggie told how Orla "feel in love" with the house "the minute she walked through the door".
