Aamir Khan's commentary during IPL leaves fans divided, Raaes director deletes his indirect dig

'Promotion karo, gyaan mat..', Raaes director takes an indirect dig at Aamir Khan's IPL commentary, deletes it later. In the fast-paced world of cricket and cinema, collisions and crossovers between the two are quite common and often take the center stage, especially when two big names are also involved. The same was the case when a routine promotional turned into an online debate and eventually led to the deletion of a tweet. During the IPL 2025 final, Aamir Khan showed up not just as a spectator but also as a guest commentator with Suresh Raina and Akash Chopra. While his fans hailed him for his presence in the commentary box, not everyone was impressed by the same. What happened next was a streak of storms. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Rahul Dholakia, Raees director, shared his thoughts on an anonymous person 'Yaar picture ka promotion karo—gyaan mat baato! I want Kohli to win this year and Zinta to win next year! Both these passionate people deserve to win, for their sheer persistence!' Even though Rahul never pinpointed anyone in his tweet, the tweet came right after Aamir's live Hindi commentary during the IPL final, where he also promoted his upcoming film Sitare Zameen Par. Netizens were quick to react, joining the dots, interpreting it as a direct jibe at Aamir for allegedly using the commentary platform to market his film instead of focusing on cricket. Grabbing mixed reactions from X users, some supported Rahul's emotions for wanting to keep sports and film promotions separate, while others felt the dig was uncalled for. Eventually, Rahul deleted his post within a few hours, but by then, screenshots had already gone viral. Rahul Dholakia, the National Award-winning filmmaker, is best known for his film Parzania. However, it was Raees (2017), featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, that rose him to fame. Aamir Khan is currently busy promoting his next film, Sitare Zameen Par. He was at the stadium as part of a promotional strategy. Sharing space with cricketing legends and offering game insights was perhaps meant to boost the film's visibility, but it ended up sparking controversy instead. Fans were divided. Some praised Aamir's passion for sports and versatility, while others criticized the blending of cinema promotions with live sports commentary.

'Bharat Mein Kaam Maangne Mat Aa Jaana': BB 18's Avinash Mishra SLAMS Mahira Khan

Last Updated: Avinash Mishra criticised Pakistani actor Mahira Khan for her remarks after Operation Sindoor. He shared a screenshot of her Instagram post and told her not to seek work in India. Actor and former Bigg Boss 18 contestant Avinash Mishra lashed out at Pakistani actor Mahira Khan over her 'anti-India' remarks after Operation Sindoor was carried out against Pakistan. His latest Instagram story comes a day after condemning a section of celebs for their silence amid the growing tension between the two countries. Taking to his Instagram story, Avinash shared a screenshot of the Raaes actor's Instagram post, and openly slammed her. In an angry post, the Titli star defended India and told Mahira not to seek work in the country anymore. 'O Mahira, evidence dekh Rakha tum ko blame karne ki zarurat nahi hai hume, evidence pure world ne dekh liya hai, Bas ab mahol theek hone ke baad hamare BHARAT me kaam maangne mat aajana (Oh Mahira, we don't need to blame you—everyone in the world has seen the evidence. Just don't come asking for work in our BHARAT once things settle down)," he wrote. He further added, 'But kudos apne country ki side lene ke liye. Yaha kuch celebs apne reach aur follower count me gaddar ban rkhe hai. But tension nahi baad me unka number bhi lagega (But kudos to you for standing by your country. There are certain celebs here who are still worried about their reach and followers and are traitors to this country. But fret not, they will bear the brunt of it soon)." Here is his post: What was Mahira Khan's post on Operation Sindoor? Mahira Khan, whose Instagram account stands suspended in India along with other Pakistani artists such as Fawad Khan and Hania Aamir, wrote a long note 'shaming' India after Operation Sindoor was carried out at 1.44 am on May 7. Her post can be read: 'I am grateful that I live in a country where I am not dictated to say what I have to. I have a voice and I CAN use it. We speak up when there are injustices in our own land and we condemn violence wherever it happens even when my country Pakistan is instantly blamed without ANY evidence." She further added, 'India, your war and hate rhetoric has continued for many years. Have seen and experienced it with my own eyes. Your media fans the flames of division. Your most powerful voices remain silent in the face of genocide and war crimes — silenced not by law, but by Fear. And in that fear, you claim victory. But to me, that silence is your greatest defeat." 'You attack cities, in the middle of the night and call it a victory? Shame on you. My Pakistan, I love you. May we do the right thing. May we never stoop to that level even after this heinous provocation. May peace prevail. Ameen. Pakistan Zindabad. Pakistan Paaindabad," her note concluded. First Published:
