Kanye West Storms Off Piers Morgan Interview After Four Tense Minutes; Rapper Rants About ‘Being Attacked by the Banks' and ‘My D—‘

Professional troll and occasional rapper Kanye West went head-to-head with professional troll and occasional journalist Piers Morgan, and the results were as uncomfortable as you might imagine. West appeared on Tuesday night's episode of Morgan's YouTube program 'Uncensored,' where he was joined by his associate, social media star Sneako. West was doing the interview in front of a scenic backdrop where he's working in Majorca, Spain. Attempting to dig in on the interview, Morgan continued. 'The view is Majorca, I've been there. It's a beautiful place,' he said. 'For all intents and purposes, you seem very relaxed and happy. That is in direct contrast to your public image at the moment, over the last couple of years, led by your ferocious …' West interreupted Morgan before he got the full question out. 'I already disagree,' West said. 'It's not in contrast — there's so many people and artists that are championing the idea of someone being able to just express who they really are, and have been able to go through the war of being attacked by the banks, being attacked, you know, by the banks — that's the best way to put it. Being attacked by the banks, and to still be here with this view is, you know, that's the win. So I think that's — I'm in contrast to your contrast.' Morgan then asked Kanye about his 32 million followers on X, to which the rapper quibbled with the number, saying, 'Now, look, right now you're not going to take inches off my dick, bro. Like, how many followers do I have?' After Morgan confirmed with a staffer that it was indeed 33 million followers, West continued ranting about the media and accused Morgan of 'not taking accountability or responsibility' and said that the interview could 'circle back when you can count.' West then removed his mic and walked away, leaving Sneako to say, 'That's it for Ye.' Watch the full trainwreck below. John Legend Says It's ‘Shocking' to Watch Kanye West's ‘Descent' into ‘Antisemitism' and ‘Anti-Blackness': ‘It Is Sad to See His Devolution'

John Legend is sharing his thoughts about his former friend and business partner, Kanye West. In a recent sitdown with The Times of London, Legend said it's 'shocking' to see what has become of the once prolific artist and mourned the days of friendship and shared passion he had with West back in the mid-2000s. 'He had so much optimism, so much creativity. It does feel sad, sometimes shocking, to see where he is now.' West saved Legend's fizzling music career back in 2004 when he signed the Grammy-winng pianist to his label, GOOD Music. As one of the brand's first artists, Legend got to see the rise and fall of West first hand. 'Kanye blew up after producing Jay-Z's album 'The Blueprint' in 2001,' Legend explained. 'Then he experienced a buzz as a solo artist and the whole time I was travelling with him, doing shows with him, getting exposure not only as his singer and keyboard player but also as an artist myself. I had been turned down by labels everywhere. Then 'The College Dropout' sold 400,000 copies in its first week, everyone wanted to know what was happening in our camp, and all those people who turned me down suddenly decided that my music sounded a lot better than it did the first time round.' Despite their falling out in 2022 after West went public with his support of Donald Trump, Legend still did not expect things with West to escalate as far as they have. 'I didn't see a hint of what we're seeing now, his obsessions with antisemitism, anti-blackness, and it is sad to see his devolution.' Legend said. 'I don't think we're qualified to psychoanalyse him, but after his mother passed in 2007 there was definitely a difference. His descent started then and seems to have accelerated recently.' West was once one of the most celebrated artists in hip-hop, but has lost that status after exhibiting aggressive antisemitic behavior. Back in February, West took out a bizarre advertisement in the Super Bowl for After the ad aired, he overhauled the site and replaced his previous wares with a swastika t-shirt. In the same month, the rapper's X account was suspended after going on an antisemtic tirade, writing things like, 'I'm a Nazi,' and claiming that Hitler was 'so fresh.' Most recently, the artist released a new single called 'Heil Hitler,' with art that resembles a swastika. Must-see concerts this week: Jack White, AC/DC, Grant Hart tribute

Stadium tours, tributes to Twin Cities music greats, and a whole lot of other musicians are coming through the Twin Cities over the next handful of days. Here are the concerts worth catching during the week of April 7. Monday, April 7, and Tuesday, April 8 at Palace Theatre It was just last fall that Jack White appeared at First Avenue for an underplay shortly after the release of No Name. Now, the tour is circling back around to some bigger venues. During his two-night stand at the Palace, don't expect an epically long concert. He prefers to keep audiences wanting more. While the shows are sold out, there will be low-cost student tickets available at the door. But, if past setlists are any indication, there will be plenty of White Stripes songs. Thursday, April 10 at First Avenue Alan Sparhawk (of Low) released his first solo record last year (if we're not counting 2006's Solo Guitar). A persistent experimenter, White Roses, My God wasn't uncharted territory, but it was a departure from what fans expected from Low. Now, he's announced a collaborative album with fellow Duluth musicians Trampled By Turtles. But before that record arrives, he'll headline First Avenue in a co-bill with Mount Eerie. The prolific and elastic Phil Elverum project is a nice pairing with Sparhawk. Saturday, April 12 at Fine Line The quartet has come a long way since they went viral for a performance of their song "Racist, Sexist, Boy" at the LA Public Library years ago. They came through the Twin Cities last summer, opening for Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins, and Rancid at Target Field. Now, following the release of their second album, No Obligation, they're headlining Fine Line on Record Store Day. For the record-buying holiday, they'll be doing a signing at Electric Fetus earlier in the April 10 at U.S. Bank Stadium AC/DC's first U.S. tour in a while will kick off at U.S. Bank Stadium. They may be in their '70s, but they're still at it and have, perhaps surprisingly, managed to continue ringing the bell for new generations. (See: My daughter.) Thursday, April 10 at Cloudland Theater In a benefit for LA Wildfire Relief, the long-running Twin Cities rock outfit Rank Strangers will headline a tribute to the late Hüsker Dü drummer and solo artist Grant Hart.
