Celta Vigo to close goalkeeper signing today

La Liga outfit Celta Vigo are all set to close a deal for a fresh addition to the club's goalkeeper ranks. This comes amid confirmation that free agent Ionat Radu will imminently be unveiled as the latest addition to the Celestes' squad. Advertisement Shot-stopper Radu for his part spent the 2nd half of this season plying his trade in Italy, with Venezia. After Inter Milan agreed to allow the Romanian to depart on a permanent basis, Radu went on to pen a short-term deal with fellow Serie A outfit Venezia. And the 28-year-old's ensuing performances evidently proved enough to convince those behind the scenes at the aforementioned Celta Vigo of his talents. This comes amid confirmation that Radu is on the verge of sealing a move to Balaídos. As per a report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano early this week: 'Ionut Radu signs in today as new Celta Vigo goalkeeper on four year deal valid until June 2029.' Conor Laird – GSFN

Serie A: Venezia 0-1 Roma – Dybala extends unbeaten league ru

Roma picked up a 1-0 victory away against Venezia thanks to a second-half Paulo Dybala penalty, which was enough to hand Claudio Ranieri and his team extend their unbeaten league run and their fifth win in eight Serie A matches. Venezia handed full Serie A debuts to recent signings Ionut Radu in goal and David Fila up front, both of whom arrived at the end of the January transfer window. Roma also had a debutant in Lucas Gourna-Douath, who stood in for the suspended Manu Kone. Bryan Cristante also returned in midfield in place of Lenadro Paredes, who was given a rest alongside Mats Hummels. You can see how the action unfolded on the Football Italia Liveblog. Venezia thought they should have had a penalty early on after John Yeboah's shot appeared to strike Gianluca Mancini's arm in the area, but the referee waved it away and a long VAR check concluded with the same decision. Mancini was also involved at the other end mid-way through the first period, as his header from Dybala's free-kick had beaten Ionut Radu, but was heroically hooked off the goalline by Hans Nicolussi Raviglia. Artem Dovbyk also troubled Radu with a header before the interval with a looping effort towards the far corner after a chipped cross in off the right flank, which required the best save of the opening 45 minutes. Angelino won Roma a penalty 10 minutes into the second half, as he was clipped by Alessandro Marcandalli in the corner of the area on his way into the box. Dybala stepped up to take the resulting spot kick and sent Radu the wrong way from 12 yards, burying his effort into the right-hand corner of the net. Zeki Celik also came close with a header 10 minutes before time, but he wasn't quite able to put it on target, instead nodding just high of Radu's net. It wasn't the slickest Roma performance, but Ranieri's side have now won five and drawn three over their last eight Serie A matches, and are temporarily up to ninth in the Serie A table as a result. Dybala (R) 57'. Serie A official line-ups: Lazio vs. Monza and Cagliari vs. Parma
