Dumper worth 48L stolen in Parwalia, GPs tracker discarded
Bhopal: A dumper truck worth Rs 48 lakh was allegedly stolen from outside a contractor's house in the Parwalia area. The miscreants removed and discarded the GPS tracking device before fleeing with the vehicle.
According to the police, the complainant, Raghubir Meena, 55, a resident of Mubarakpur village in Parwalia, is a farmer and a contractor and owns multiple construction vehicles, including earth-moving machines and dumpers. He rents those for transporting stone chips and other materials.
Police said that on the night of the incident, Raghubir's driver, Ashok, parked the dumper in the designated area outside their home around 10 pm.
The next morning at around 4 am, Raghubir stepped outside and discovered the vehicle was missing. Using the GPS tracker , he found its last location near Badarkha village. Upon reaching the site with his son, they found the GPS unit lying abandoned near a Hanuman temple, indicating that the thieves removed and discarded it.
After an unsuccessful search in the vicinity, Raghubir approached the Parwalia police station and lodged a theft complaint.
Following the complaint, Parwalia police, under the leadership of SHO Rohit Nagar, formed a special team to trace the vehicle. By analysing CCTV footage from toll booths and roadside cameras along probable escape routes, the team pieced together the dumper's path. After nearly 12 hours of tracking, the dumper was found hidden in bushes near a hotel in Jhalrapatan, Jhalawar district of Rajasthan.
The stolen vehicle was seized and brought back. Efforts are ongoing to identify and nab those involved in the theft. A separate team has been assigned to trace the accused.
