Madhya Pradesh BJP MLA's Will "Cut The Tongue" Remark Sparks Row
Bhopal: In the political landscape of Madhya Pradesh, a controversy has erupted following the circulation of a video featuring BJP legislator Jagannath Singh Raghuwanshi from Chanderi, Ashoknagar district. The footage, which has rapidly gained traction on social media, purportedly captures the legislator engaged in a video call, during which he is heard making a startling declaration. He allegedly threatens in Hindi, 'Jo bhi Scindia ji ke mamle me koi bhi bolega uski juban kaat lenge (We will silence those who dare to speak against Jyotiraditya Scindia, stating that their tongues would be cut)". This incident unfolds against the backdrop of an ongoing dispute concerning remarks made by Ashoknagar District Panchayat CEO (Chief Executive Officer) Rajesh Jain. During a recent assembly of Gram Panchayat secretaries and Employment Assistants, Jain was accused of using derogatory language against elected representatives. Reports suggest that Raghuwanshi's remarks were made in response to this controversy, further intensifying the political discourse. The sequence of events began on Monday, when a meeting of Secretaries and Employment Assistants was convened at Isagarh (Ashoknagar) Janpad Panchayat. During the proceedings, the Janpad CEO received a call from District Panchayat CEO Rajesh Jain, which was placed on speakerphone. Allegedly, Jain proceeded to make disparaging comments about Members of Parliament and Members of the Legislative Assembly, even threatening Secretaries with physical reprimands, dismissing any affiliations they might have. Outraged by this conduct, the secretaries staged a walkout in protest. In response to the escalating tensions, MLA Raghuwanshi took swift action, meeting Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Tuesday to formally lodge a complaint. In his letter, he detailed the alleged misconduct of the District Panchayat CEO, Jain, emphasising that the use of abusive language in the presence of female officers was not only a breach of administrative decorum but also an affront to the dignity of women employees. He urged the Chief Minister to establish a high-level committee to conduct an impartial inquiry and to take immediate disciplinary measures against the accused official. As the controversy deepens, the viral video featuring Raghuwanshi has sparked fresh debate within political and administrative circles. Despite the widespread discussion, the district administration has yet to issue an official statement on the matter.

45-year-old tribal woman died after a brutal gangrape INDORE: In a rerun of the Nirbhaya horror, a tribal woman was gangraped and tortured so brutally that she died on Saturday afternoon. Savaged with a wooden object or a rod, her intestines were protruding when she was found bleeding, unconscious, and taking her last breaths in a village in Khandwa on Saturday afternoon. Two men, who were the last to be seen with her, have been arrested, said DIG Siddharth Bahuguna, adding: "The accused had tortured the woman and damaged her private parts." The blood-curdling crime took place in a village in Khalwa region, around 50km from the district headquarters and 170km from Indore. The woman, a 45-year-old mother of two, had set out to attend a wedding in the village on Friday night. "After the wedding celebration, she set out on Friday night to drop off a female relative along with one of the accused, Hari, at a nearby field, just half a kilometre from her home. When she didn't return that night, her family assumed she had stayed back with them. The woman went to Hari's home where they consumed alcohol along with co-accused Sunil," said ASP Raghuwanshi. According to police, Hari's mother claimed that they were sleeping inside their home on Friday night. On Saturday morning, when she woke up, she heard someone whimpering and stepped out to see who it was. Based on this, a case of gang rape and murder has been registered against Hari Palvi, 40, and Sunil Korku, 30, residents of the same village who work as labourers." One of the doctors on the post-mortem panel told TOI on condition of anonymity, "The woman had suffered vaginal tear in a way that her intestinal contents had come out. She had suffered heavy blood loss due to intestinal bleeding. Her uterus and bladder were intact but the pouch containing the uterus was ripped. It is suspected that a hard object like a rod or a stick was used. Marks of dragging and scratches were also found on the body. " Family members told police that the woman briefly regained consciousness and told them, "Something terrible has happened to me, I will not survive. Sunil and Hari did this." Her son said they were initially unaware of the extent of her injuries. It was only when his wife checked on her that they realized she was bleeding profusely from her private parts. After some time, she gasped and died. Her body was transported to hospital on a tractor.
