Veteran filmmakers mull over state's potential in film-making

Ranchi: Veteran filmmakers from Bollywood discussed the potential of Jharkhand in film industry.
Attending a talk show, titled '
Folklore and Filter Coffee
– A Jharkhand Special', hosted by city-based social outfit, 'Empower Jharkhand', on Sunday, filmmaker Rahul Rawail recalled filmmaker Raj Kapoor's dedication.
"Raj Kapoor could control 5,000 during a shoot. That commitment still inspires me. Discipline and vision could transform Jharkhand's talent pool. Local artistes deserve structured opportunities," he added.
TOI, in its April 13 Johar Jharkhand edition, had highlighted the problems faced by state film makers.
Filmmaker and branding professional Rahul Mittra underlined the importance of strategic collaboration to boost Jharkhand's film industry. "Small-town stories are winning hearts. Jharkhand needs branding and partnerships to grow as a film destination," he said.
Chef and cookbook author Suvir Saran stressed on leveraging food to fuel cultural identity and economic growth. "We must promote dhooska and barra like litti chokha. Social media can take Jharkhand's flavours global," he noted.
