Rajiv Gandhi's death anniversary observed at RCERT-Chandrapur
1 2 3 Chandrapur: The death anniversary of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was observed with solemnity and reverence on Wednesday at Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering, Research and Technology (RGCERT), Chandrapur. The programme was organised by the Sardar Patel Memorial Society to honour the late leader's visionary contributions to India's technological advancement. The ceremony commenced with floral tributes and garlanding of Rajiv Gandhi's statue in the college premises, followed by a two-minute silence. The main event was held at the Chhotubhai Patel auditorium, where dignitaries paid homage to his portrait. Senior journalist and editor Madhukar Bhave was present as the chief orator. Among the distinguished guests were Chandrapur MP Pratibha Dhanorkar, former MLA Subhash Dhote, society president Vinod Dattatray, treasurer Ninad Gaddamwar, executive members Shafique Ahmad and Prashant Potdukhe, and college principal Dr Anil Chitade. The college, established in 1983 as Chandrapur Engineering College, was later renamed in Rajiv Gandhi's memory through the efforts of the late Shantaram Potdukhe. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Chitade. The proceedings were compered by Dr Devashree Raich and Stuti Sane. Rajiv Gandhi College's ‘Flame 2K25' tech-cultural fest inaugurated with fanfare
Chandrapur: Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering, Research and Technology (RCERT), Chandrapur, launched its annual techno-cultural festival Flame 2K25 on a vibrant note with a traditional inaugural ceremony attended by dignitaries, faculty, and students. The programme was held in the presence of Vinod Dattatray, president of the Sardar Patel Memorial Society, Ninad Gaddamwar, treasurer of the society, RCERT principal Dr Anil Chitade, first year department head Prof Nikhil Dube, and Ajay Jaiswal. A large number of students, faculty members, and invited guests attended the event. Winners of various competitions held as part of the fest were felicitated with certificates and prizes at the hands of the dignitaries. The event was coordinated by a core organising team comprising Prof Sameena Zaheer, Dr Avinash Challewar, Dr Piyali Chakravarty, Dr Varsha Sadarani, Prof Prajakta Anarth, Prof Sana Ali, Dr Smita Kale, and Prof Maitreyee Velankivar, along with members of the first year students' committee. 'Flame 2K25' featured a blend of technical and cultural contests aimed at encouraging innovation, creativity, and team spirit among students.

1 2 Chandrapur: Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering (RCERT), Chandrapur , hosted the Industry-Academia Conclave 2025 on Sunday, aimed at bridging the gap between industry needs and academic learning. The event was presided over by Vinod Dattatreya, president, Sardar Patel Memorial Society, and graced by principal Dr Anil Chitade, Amit Bankar, deputy chief engineer, CSTPS, and Sandeep Hase, executive engineer, Gosikhurd, among others. Retired Wing Commander Dr Ajay Kelkar addressed the gathering online. Speakers elaborated on real-world industrial practices , govt service preparation, and the critical role of engineering in national defence. Sessions highlighted the operations of CSTPS, skill development strategies, and innovations in defence technologies.
