Government's new Rs 3000 FASTag pass for private vehicles: All you need to know
In a landmark move aimed at simplifying toll payments and improving road travel, the Government of India has announced the launch of a FASTag-based Annual Pass for Rs 3,000. Effective from August 15, 2025, the new scheme is exclusively meant for non-commercial private vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and FOR A YEAR OR 200 TRIPSAs per the official announcement, the pass will be valid for one year from the date of activation or up to 200 trips, whichever comes first. It is designed to benefit regular highway commuters by reducing recurring toll charges and offering predictability in Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, shared the update via his official handle on X (formerly Twitter) on June 18, 2025.
'In a transformative step towards hassle-free highway travel, we are introducing a FASTag-based Annual Pass priced at Rs 3,000, effective from August 15, 2025. Valid for one year from the date of activation or up to 200 trips—whichever comes first—this pass is designed exclusively for non-commercial private vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and Annual Pass will enable seamless and cost-effective travel across National Highways throughout the country. A dedicated link for activation and renewal will soon be made available on the Rajmarg Yatra App as well as on the official websites of NHAI and MoRTH.'
